If we could land Aish AND Treloar we'd be mad not to. I know we need another KPF but realistically, don't we need one in between Cloke and Moore in terms of age? An 18year old is going to take several years to come good, by which stage Moore will be further advanced and Cloke in his twilight. Who knows with Reid and White is... Well he's Jesse White.

I can't see how we could pull it off but I'd be pretty stoked with a strategy that saw Aish and Treloar come in, then we look to FA or a trade in the next 2 off seasons for a KPF in his 20s. Keeffe comes back on the rookie list in 2017. I think that Cloke, Moore, a stronger option than White and whatever we get from Reid, plus Fas and Elliott, is a good enough forward line to compliment the elite midfield we would have.

Complimentary to this is the hunt for young KPPs to develop for the long term, which is still vitally important.

I'm prepared to chuck our 1st and Jarrod Witts at GWS to get Treleor. Big Cox is coming along nicely in the VFL and another Preseason could be the topping on the cake for the big guy. We simply draft another tall with first pick we have in the draft.

Witts is from NSW and his trade value has to be of some merit when you consider young ruckman changing clubs in the past. We would probably have to trade our 2nd with their 3rd rounder too. Considering Mummy is almost done and Lobb looks a couple of seasons away I think Witts would compliment that team immensely.

As for Aish. Word is Seedsman will be the player offered as the Lions rate him and he seems to have fallen by the way side this season after a strong start. Again picks will need to be involved. But I'd say our concern would be securing Treleor before anything else.

and would have to offer Brisbane a secondary selection, and possibly defender Paul Seedsman, for Aish.

Please do it.

Please.

Do it.

Reading some of the posts here, I don't think many of you understand what it would take to get both Aish and Treloar. Honestly, it's less than a 5% chance of happening.

It's not even worth considering until you have 3 first rounders you're prepared to cough up, with at least one of them being a top 10 pick.

Not happening.

You probably need to tell 3AW, Triple M and The Age as well.
Not sure how your information is worth more than those organisations information

What would it take?

If both players nominate Collingwood then it will happen.

Right, because what the tabloids say is always right?

Also, they're saying you're interested in both. To actually land both is a completely different kettle of fish.

About $1.3 million of salary cap space over 5+ years.

GWS won't trade Treloar for anything less than 2 first rounders, or a a player with genuine value. Jarrod Witts is a fringe player; to other clubs, he's not worth anything more than a third rounder, or maybe a very late second for clubs desperate for a ruckman. He will not be a factor in a deal for one of the most valuable players in the competition.

Aish will cost a first rounder at the very least. Second Rounder + Seedsman isn't an option.

Agreed 100% would happily give up our first and 2nd pick if need be

I am not sure how it can be seen that we are better off getting Treloar over Dangerfield.

In the very hypothetical situation where we had a choice between Treloar & Dangerfield and Treloar will cost our first 2 picks and Dangerfield nothing, then I think its a no brainer. Treloar does not equal Dangerfield plus our first two picks.

Dangerfield will always be the better option as we get him at no trade cost. We then go into the draft again with our picks or use them on other trades for other required players.

Putting Dangerfield aside, if we are to trade for Treloar I would be thinking GWS would request something like Witts (a future Mumford replacement) and then a combination of picks.

Yes let's go with a WB poster with 15 total posts and probably hates Collingwood

Aish would command no more then 450 and Treloar 750 so 1.2k, and just a heads up if Billy longer is worth pick 14 then Witts is too go back to your own board before mumbling s***

No argument? No problem.

Shit, are you for real?

Its all about demand and supply, ruckman are still very hard to come by and historically some very bog average ruckman have been traded for first round picks for this reason - Witts will not be a bog average ruckman.

Once again this year ruckmen will be hot property. GWS are struggling to find a quality ruckman to back up Mumford. Mumford is injury prone and his knees may mean he will see an early end to his career like Jolly.

I expect they will pursue a guy like Max Gawn, but Witts is developing nicely and would do even better with Mumford there to help him, he is a very good needs fit for the GWS.

For the record I would like to keep Witts as good ruckman are not easy to find.

Let's be honest there is no point arguing, it'll either happen or it won't. The fact you had the need to come over here and make your first few posts in this thread suggests you're a troll

Supply and demand can waver easily. Brodie Grundy was touted to go in the top 3 of his draft year, and you got him at pick 18.

Witts is 23 years old this year and is still getting dropped for inconsistency (and presumably, a lack of mobility). Sorry, but history would suggest players like that rarely go for anything more than a second rounder.

Cap space won't be an issue, and I'm not sure how you could possibly think that Aish could command $550k per year after a solid first year and less than stellar second.

As for what the clubs will command at the draft table, what they want and what they get are two very different things. Treloar is not yet up to the same standard as Beams, and is not contracted. They will ask for two first round picks but it's highly unlikely that they will get them, just like it was highly unlikely that Collingwood were going to get pick 5 and Aish last year. A first, second, and maybe a sweetener somewhere will get the trade done.

Aish would require a mid first rounder by itself. Failing that, a second rounder and a player they have their eye on, like Seedsman, should get the job done too, should he nominate Collingwood as his destination.

It's cute that you're calling Witts a fringe player. There have been some reports that the Dogs are offering him a 4 year deal. I kind of hope it's true, just to piss you off.

Please  from the team who paid Boyd 1 million per season and is still paying part of Ryan Griffen's salary......go away knob head.

Care to elaborate on how it's a troll? I checked this board on a whim, saw what I thought were unrealistic expectations, I made a fair observation, and rather than challenge me, you're just pulling the troll card out.

Witts wasn't dropped for inconsistency. He was dropped because our match committee finally worked out that playing two first rucks isn't good for team balance.

You say Witts is a fringe player yet Aish is worth a shit load. you honestly can't see how this is trolling? Also if both players nominate us I think you'll find it will make it pretty easy to get deals done.
