Where do you live now? I've lived in the west by the beach, it was fantastic. Currently living inner north and it's fine! Close to town, always parking, footy every weekend, cricket and soccer season on the horizon. Happy to be in Adelaide for a great summer!

grew up in semaphore, currently living far north after buying my first home but that said, it's not necessarily the suburbs that get to me it's the lack of job opportunity and the fact that it's more like i giant sleepy country town.

I guess it depends on the jobs and qualifications you've got to get employment. Employment up North is hard because its all blue collar employment and those jobs are being sent O/S where production is cheaper. My father in law worked at Holdens, so I get how big a loss it is to the whole community.

I've got a mate who also brought a house far north, past Elizabeth. I could see how your perception would be that way. Especially after growing up in Semaphore. Great beach!

Yep, and Tippett was Crows, Brisbane or Gold Coast. And Buddy was Hawks or GWS.

That said, Danger has said he wants success (and is considering going home). So Carlton is probably level with Melbourne in terms of Victorian teams least likely to offer him success during his career.

You are correct. West Coast got pick 20 and Carlton got pick 46.

That said, West Coast drafted a dud (Tony Notte) and Carton got an ok player (Dennis Armfield).

Pick 1/2 is probably worth a little more than Pick 3 and Dangerfield is probably slightly behind where Judd was at the time of his trade.

While I don't think Danger is as money hungry as those you suggested, he does want success. So, if he did leave, it wouldn't surprise me if he shocked people by ending up at Hawthorn or Collingwood instead of Geelong as everyone expects.

Possibly. Or Geelong supporters are overestimating it, especially considering how many games have been played this year by players that will retire either this season or next.

The players on the verge of retirement coupled with our age demographic has been our achilles heel... the older players have been a liability and have cost us a game or two along the line this season.

Add to our current team a fit Menzel, Vardy, Duncan, Stanley and Clark and recruit who we're supposedly linked to, there would be a reason for Dangerfield to feel optimistic at the chance of success in the not too distant future.

In my opinion we could possibly contend again as early as next season... that's not me overestimating the list or being overly optimistic in regards to our fortunes, that's me being realistic when you factor in our liabilities either retiring or taking back seat and our age demographic improving significantly.

Pair Dangerfield with Selwood, Motlop, Duncan, Caddy and Guthrie and that forms the nucleus of a pretty good midfield.

Stevie J and Menzel in the forward half alongside Hawkins and a fit Clark and Vardy and it's actually a fairly scary proposition.

That's merely my opinion though.

My point is there's every reason Danger might think he'll get success at Geelong.

Mate, hawthorn and franklin was thr biggest God worshiping on the football world, if they didn't even match a RFA regardless of the length then nobody will. Thr only way it will happen is if Adelaide has a weak club culture of " we are happy to potentially have a player who doesn't want to wear the club jumper playing for us". Hawthorn certainly wouldn't pay franklin big bucks to play without wanting to wear thr jumper.

Um, you do realize that FA is decided before trade? We would have decided to match before you would have traded away any picks or players.

Except that it doesn't. Trade period starts October 12. The free agent offers end October 18. It's not hard to have a couple of trades lined up early and then submit Danger's paperwork afterwards when we've got nothing valuable to trade.
