If it comes down to 2 1st rounders it will be who Teloar wants to go to not who has higher picks.
It will come down to who Treloar chooses, regardless of picks.

Would be nice to get treloar but 800k for 6 years for a midfielder and giving away 2 first round draft picks to land him I wouldn't care if we didn't get him.

When the Pies were looking like having a pick in the early teens 2 x 1st rounders was a fair trade for Treloar. As of now the Pies have pick 7 and considering Treloar in out of contract that pick alone should be enough to get the trade completed.

Your going to cop it now from the GWS guys

They will loose there shit.

Great news. It's been confirmed North are out of the running for Treloar (source Purple, Sunday Footy Show)

Didn't even know they were in the running!

According to the North board, they were raging hot favourites.

If anything North simply don't have the trade assets (players and/or draft picks) to get a deal done

Pies are in the box seat now, With Richmond looking like possibly having a deep finals run, the Tigers would have to give up a Corey Ellis and or Lennon type (as well as their first rounder) which they won't/shouldn't..
Possibly Vlaustin is a type GWS could be interested in that I think could be expendable by Richmond..

What did Barrett say this morning, who is favorite to get him.

We won't be giving up any of those 3 I can tell you with 100% confidence. Very very highly rated internally.

Besides GWS need picks to cover all the academy kids they'll pick up this year and next as they can no longer go into debt two years in a row.

Reckons its down to Richmond and Collingwood. Reckons Brisbane were having a crack as well, but obviously they were shot down quickly. Apparently will announce his leaving the Giants the Monday after the home and away season ends.

As written in this thread 200 million times before, Giants don't need players..... 2 first rounders will do it.

Not with Richmond's first rounders it won't, they want minimum two top ten picks, which the Pies can give them.

Perfect fit for either club. Think it will come down to whomever is happy to pay him more.

He would potentially add more to Richmond than Collingwood and I wouldn't be surprised to see Richmond outbid the pies for that reason. They are already challenging and added to Ellis he brings a class hardness to the guts the Tigers need more of. He's more of a player upgrade at the moment for Collingwood rather than a desperate type they need.

Watch Richmonds next 2 firsts go on the table.

He isn't worth two top 10s one and a pick between 15-25 depending on how high the top 10 is.

But the academy picks make any first rounders more valuable. They've got two top 10's this year, plus the cousin of the danihers and McDonald who was AIS. To pick up all 4 they have to go into debt next year. They don't want to go into debt next year as they've got 4 top 20-25 picks and the year after another 2 kids who recruiters are eyeing. And remember the AFL changed the law so they cannot go into debt two years in a row.

Effectively they look to have 4-5 top 10 prospects and overall 8 top 20 picks over the next 3 drafts. Losing Treloar and at the price of picking up these prospects is overall to their advantage as it spreads their age demographic.

They'll probably still be forced to trade out another kid like WHE, Ahern, plowman ect... Next year to pay for these draftees.

The fact they almost made the finals this year may force the Giants to rethink their draft strategy, still think they might be tempted into getting a Ben Kennedy type from the Pies as well as their first rounder

Absolutely. Except Ben Kennedy can't even get into the 1st regularly for the pies. And has been quite shit. Other than that the idea has some merit!

Witts and the Pies first pick then could be a damn good deal for GWS, still think Ben Ken can be a good player, but probably needs a new club/environment.

Yeah I like Witts and think he'll be A-grade but he seems one of those love him or hate him players. I'd probably do that rather than Richmonds 2 x late firsts if that was my choice. Still means they would need to trade out some other boys to get the currency for their academy boys as you'd want to use pick 7 on a talent in its own right!
