People always say why would a player go here or why would they go there......as they figure in their own minds that teams in the top 8 will ultimately be winning a flag or two and that teams that seem on the way up today will be the same teams on the way up tomorrow.

Well, it doesn't work that way as there will be plenty of Goddards, Dal Santo's, Abletts and maybe even Franklin's that won't see a flag after thinking they've made a Premiership-winning career move. There will be more misses than hits when it's all said and done and today's cellar-dwellers can easily become top 8 aspirants tomorrow.............Lesson?.............Don't count your chickens.

Actually heard today that Treloar is trying hard to stay at GWS as he loves it up there and their future is arguably brighter than either pies or Tigs. Hope my source is wrong but he has a brother working at GWS feeding him info.

Now you are just confused. This is the Treloar thread not the Tom Boyd deal haters thread. I never mentioned Boyd. Let's stay on topic.

I'm saying in the context of the player he is, and what he adds to either Collingwood or Richmond (or indeed GWS should he stay), and the likely outcome re the AFL TV rights deal, $700-800k per is in no way unreasonable (or insane) to attract a player of his caliber.

FWIW GWS will get 2 1st rounder or an early first and second so the outcome is as good as you could ask for.

Considering he is already there and and GWS want to keep him, you wouldn't think he'd have to try that hard to stay... Just do it
