Did you even read the post I quoted?Paid less for a lesser value player? Outstanding analysis.
So Crowley/Ling/Hocking/Ben Jacobs should get paid more than Ablett/Judd/Watson/Pendlebury?
Saying thankfully we didn't pay as much as Selwood or Cotchin seems to imply you're getting the same level player or those two who are guns are getting massively overpaid, neither of which are true. What's your point exactly? Tigerballs said we paid some money - moderate - for Greenwood and then you seem to agree that lesser players cost less.

Same as Scully to GWS. Same as Ablett to Gold Coast. Same as Dale Thomas to carlton.
Am I doing it right?
Interesting the latest rumour of 2 X 1st rounders for AT and an indigenous player. I wasn't aware Paul Ahern was indigenous. Can someone please confirm ?

A few things that appear to get overlooked in this Treloar debate. It doesnt mean he will necessarily stay with us but makes it understandable why he couldnt make a decision until the end of the year
1Currently contracted players for 2016 who havent been getting a game may ask for a trade. The club or Treloar obviously cant comment or sign off on a contract for Treloar until these trades are done for draft picks .Lamb and Hamtpton would both have trade currency and both would be on reasonable money. If we have offered say 450 compared to Pies 700 this could help bridge the gap.Treloar has said numerous times he wants to stay but he needs the Giants to at least be in the ball park with Pies, Tigers etc. There could be others who we dont know yet. They may also ask for a trade.
2.Remember Cloke didnt sign until after the season but unlike his situation Collingwood wouldnt have had contracted fringe players for the following year who may be traded.Treloars situation is a bit more unique than Cloke Ablett, Dangerfield situations.
3.Its in the Melbournes medias best interest to keep this situation relevant throughout the year eg Cloke.-sells papers and Sam Edmund, Clark etc dont have to do any real journalism.
Hes not gone yet
True but we can do all that without losing our top 5 b@f talent in TreloarHe's gone but we'll reach an equitable settlement. You guys are up to pussy's bow in talent and need to spread the age/cap profile while the cap and list ceiling comes down. I wouldn't worry about it. In fact I'd get value from players before other first round picks wither on the vine.
Things can change pretty quickly. We were in a semi a few years ago. When was the last time Collingwood made a semi final? Why on earth would he choose to go to Carlton over Richmond or Collingwood?
Carlton have many years in the bottom 4 ahead

Ahern is indigenous but was pick 7 last year and extended his contract this year.Doubt he would be traded or ask to be traded.Hamptom may be ask for a trade due to lack of game time.Same as Scully to GWS. Same as Ablett to Gold Coast. Same as Dale Thomas to carlton.

Only 3 of those blokes will be playing together next year tho!Kreuzer, Murphy, Gibbs, Cripps, Treloar makes a solid midfield.

Kelly the most likely to step up then Williams and Ahern possibly but to Treloars level im not convinced.Hes a pure inside extractor and outside jet.Hard to replace them. NOT at Pendles level yet obviously but hard to replace these players ....although fit Shiel and Ward etc will soften itHe's a great talent, that's totally undeniable, which is why we are after him. However, you have players from the last few drafts that will step into the breach without GWS missing a beat. We lost Beams but someone always steps into the breach. A starting mid by sheer location always gets more and looks more.
You have them lining up to step into that position and I wouldn't worry my head about filling that 'void'. Your problem will be how to fit this embarrassment of riches into your side. You're getting some great players washing through, including this year and next, but your age profile still needs stretching.

What you said sounded as if tiges and geelong are iver paying cotchin and selwood...which they are not.I think this might be one of those user-end problems. We paid Greenwood a moderate wage and he's a moderate player who is beating up high-wage players. You with me? It was a response to the barb from Tigerpants about us landing Greenwood, so really you need to take the issue up with him.
lol this gets funnier by the hour. Because Buckley mentioned Treloar would improve there list and was not asked, its proof he is a lock to the pies
Bottom line, if anyone things Treloar will bend his club GWS over, you are dreaming. The club who will get him, if he leaves will be the club that offers the best deal for both treloar and GWS..if you think otherwise you are an idiot, sorry to be blunt, but thats the truth.
Nah. The club that Treloar nominates will get him. For a quality player like Treloar a deal will get done. The history of trading players shows that players being offered equal or better deals money wise elsewhere and that team having better trading assets but they didn't get a look in because the player opted to go his team of choice. The player holds more power than any club.lol this gets funnier by the hour. Because Buckley mentioned Treloar would improve there list and was not asked, its proof he is a lock to the pies

Is English your second language? What you said sounded as if tiges and geelong are iver paying cotchin and selwood...which they are not.
Collingwood on the other hand paid overs for a guy who had one good season....greenwood!
What a hot take. However, I'm not really sure that Buckley has had much to do at all with the Treloar rumours which have driven this thread or the media mill.
The 'bending over' of GWS is just one more weird ingredient to add to the mix. Who is saying that? If you're talking about this Carlton walking Treloar through to the PSD rumour, just...come on. No one believes that. The reality is the chosen destination club, Collingwood, will make a reasonable deal.
