Did you hear that sound? That was the sound of hundreds of Rugby League journo's ejaculating.

Well if he hadn't already before the game, it would appear his second half would put him into the 53.

Good on him. :thumbsu:

Yeah I think he'll make it.

The reaction from Twitter had he got cut would have been pretty funny though. Oh well.

So looks like he will make it into the 53 man roster, but will he be active gameday if he is only a specialist? using 4 spots on the active roster will be hard if he has a bad game or players are playing banged up.

Ok this headline made me feel a little off, i am getting embarresed by aussie reporters :(

LIVE: Jarryd Hayne is tearing it up again in his last chance to push for a spot on San Francisco's roster, making NFL defenders seem amateurish.

I'll tell you where it originated.

Before this season of NRL started, and around when the NFL was in the off-season/camp, the Parramatta Eels traveled to Seattle to study the Seahawks. How they prepare, how they run their org, coach, etc etc. The whole thing. Not sure if the whole team went, or a small contingent of players, or even if any players went, but there was a line of co-operation between the Seahawks and Eels. There must've been some interest shown by the Seahawks at the time....just like you're seeing the NFL (not just NCAA) starting to look around the world for athletes who might adopt the game. Menelik Watson is an example. So is Margus Hunt. Ezekial Ansah. Joplo Bartu. Among just a few. The Seahawks no doubt just offered him to come and try out. Not like he'll make it. But Hayne, a long-time NFL fan, is admirable here. It's always been a dream or a love, and he's 27, still young, and before he gets too old, he wants to give it a shot. As someone else said, he'll be back in 2015 for the Eels. 2015, not 2016.

GG- lets hope he goes straight to the airport after the game to get back in time for the Eels last game on Sunday....

Hahah god that is terrible.

They take away from what he is actually doing by making people have to talk him down abit just to bring everyone back down to earth.

Just enjoy what he is achieving without trying to blow it up ffs. Even Jarryd has got to be hating it.

As most here know, he's playing against people who will be stacking shelves and flipping burgers come Monday. To be honest, just based on the highlights from today's game, I'm not entirely sure he makes the 53. I think he's somewhat slow to diagnose the hole and to hit it. He may make the 53 as a special teamer, but he'll be fourth string running back should he make the 49ers roster.

Also looks like he's out of the game now - not receiving any carries.

He will likely make the roster but i dont think he will be active every week.

Yep, it's the old cliche but the hard work for him particularly starts now.

He's shown what he can do with mostly natural/rugby ability, now it's about taking steps into the playbook and learning how to become whatever kind of back he can be to get some kind of regular season play outside of a return here and there.

That's why you have the Practice Squad.
