I'd say hes about 33/1 to play round 1 - Isn't even with the main training group yet so will be a long way behind.Besides - he's too important to risk given his versatility and ability to play as a key forward
33/1?

Is that SportsBet or Ladbrokes?

Still very much want Jobe to captain next year, then pass it on to Heppell. Love Hooksy's leadership, determination and his celebrations though. What a wonderful player and personality.

Yeah. Personally I'd rather him or Hurley to Heppell as captain at this point.
Which is not to say Heppell won't make a great captain, but I think it's too soon, and possibly not as strong a leader now as he will become. He'll be better for the experience this year though.

Re: Cale Hooker

Very fast. 2.88 in the 20m sprint and a 7.94 in agility, with good endurance all at 195cm. Seems like an athlete, but can he play footy?

No idea how he didn't make the AA squad

Probably would have if he'd stayed the entire season either forward or back. The shift half way probably left him just missing out as either a forward or a back.

Still finding his feet as a forward so it is expected that he would miss out. Hurley will make it though

Don't see how playing great at both ends of the field prevents him making the squad. He is like the ideal player for any team.

100% agree with you - but given the AA team ends up having players played randomly out of position just to fit them in, logic is sorely missing in the selection process. :p

I've loved Cale's attitude whilst playing forward. The only thing that has prevented him from having a serious impact down there at times has been his accuracy. Still, it's best that he head back to defence with Hurley, as the losses of Fletcher and Carlisle in one off-season leave us very short in that area.

It's actually hard to believe the level of surprise at this, in hindsight:

I f*****g love this guy.

all you can ask of any player is to give 100%. he does it every game.

new favourite player. and reading the Collingwood game day thread, opposition supporters are starting to say things like "I ******* hate Hooker"

getting up the nose of the opposition too!! bravo Hooks!

Hooker strikes me as being very much not the hateable type so I can only assume it's because people don't like the fact he's ****ing good.
