Man, that still hurts and makes me feel sick in the guts.Of course, AFL 360 had to show the 97 prelim. OF COURSE!

We had boundary seats right on the wing for that game and I was in perfect line with Libbas kick for goal.
I will swear to my death that the ball never went outside of the goals.
I would love to say that with video review that decision would've never stood, but with the way it's going they would've called it out on the full.Man, that still hurts and makes me feel sick in the guts.

I hope that isn't like when supermodels appear with racehorses, the racehorses lose....A fantastic photo of Bob and Sid the bulldog on the front page of the Hearld Sun today.
You mean "Review completed, umpire's call"I would love to say that with video review that decision would've never stood, but with the way it's going they would've called it out on the full.
I love the 80s music in that video. It suits Stringer so well. Flashy, outrageous. Simply the best.
I have a Melbourne supporting mate that was at that game and directly behind the path of the ball. Swears it was a goal.Man, that still hurts and makes me feel sick in the guts.

I was behind that goal.....**** you Adelaide
To be fair a speech like that could go either way (which is a risk). If we had have made the GF and I have no doubt we would have won that year, that speech would be seen as genius. Hindsight can be the birth of a lot of regret.Did anyone read the article re: Wallace and his regrets from the 97 prelim this week? He said at 3/4 time he spoke passionately about what a win would mean for the club, for the fans etc. WTF!?!? He should have spoken about what needed to be done - game plan, defence, etc. Save the heartfelt speech for post-game! That pissed me off big time.
So many scars ....
Everyone at the ground knew it was a goal - not sure what the goal umpires were on that day. Still brings back terrible memories![]()

one thing i have always overlooked until now is that they kicked 21 behinds.....so we weren't exactly world-beaters that dayEveryone get over it they where a better side on the day and went on to win the flag The fact that we kicked 6 points in quarter didnt help
