Not sure if serious??? We got a few candidates already and Langdon is not high in the picking order. Potential leadership group most likely.

Going with Langdon would have been like choosing Fraser over Maxwell in 09. We'd be crazy to give the captaincy to such a laconic bloke!

I'm serious. I'm really impressed with what I've seen on and off field. He's an old head on young shoulders. Well educated, well spoken, reliable and good quality. Maxwell showed that the captain needn't be the best or most talented player on the list.

Reports Aish nominates Collingwood and their supporters start discussing the legitimacy of an ok third year player being their next captain. Feels like another day, another player nominates the Pies. o_O

If it was my team I'd be jumping up and down as though we just selected Blake Acres with pick 19 all over again!

Hmm, maybe worth a new thread on our board then as quite a few have been labelled future captaincy. You can have only 1, maybe 2 as shared but 4 is like having 4 winners in a B&F :p

Who would they be? Pendles could have 5-7 years left...DeGoey? Moore?

If your team was linked with so many players, you would get weary too. But I look forward to your reaction when you take Freeman from us.

We actually trade pretty well and when a player is coming to us we pay as close to market value as we can.

I'm really not sure what his market value is to be honest. Equivalent of a first round between 13 to 18?

Do the lions need points for academy kids also? That seems to be an issue for the sides with academy players.

Pies look like having a similar trade issue with freeman.

What will Brisbane want for Aish?
Oxley and 26 do the job?

I'm undecided whether this is a very well-played joke or re-hashing the same scenario for the umpteenth time...

Oxley - Untouchable

Can we interest you in Ben Sinclair?

If I say "who?", that's not going to accidentally indicate interest, right?

That'd be my guess, though obviously I'd err on the higher side of the range :P. As much as it's annoying, most players drop in value once you take away the "hope" of a pick. However even if we got a pick around that it's probably going to be eaten by academy selections - in which case the equivalent or better in later picks would probably do just as well, even if it isn't quite as warm and fuzzy for supporters. It's also a lot easier to get a hold of the later picks that a pick in that range.

I find it hard to believe Aish wants to leave especially with the Lamberts on board and that family culture

Just putting it out there. Pick and player? If picks, which ones?

Seedsman has definitely been linked to you and is good mates with beams so he might be part of a deal. If freeman leaves we may have to decent second rounders.

I think it will get done pretty easy.

Unless we have a player we've targeted, I think we'd rather just draft picks. Collingwood's second rounder and another pick later in the second round would probably add up to a decent pick equivalent.

AFAIK the "linking" to Seedsman have basically just been echo chambering - starting as "Seedsman might be on the table" through "Pies wouldn't be against trading Pies" to "Lions are interested in Seedsman", similar to the Witts linkage to GWS.
