This is all incredibly fanciful. He's uncontracted. If he wants out, he gets out. That's how it works these days. When has Pickering ever been subtle about his clients intentions before when they've wanted out? He doesn't fear "certainty".
Regardless, his decision was already certainly made before Lethal spoke. Seems more likely that that threat was (with Aish in the bag already) simply a warning to the next wantaway type (note the complete lack of outrage from Pickering). A free hit for Lethal essentially.
If he signs, he wants to be here.
How many times has "wants to go to Collingwood" been used as trade leverage in the past?
If you want to believe Collingwood wasn't his 1st choice, that's your prerogative.
I have no doubt Leigh and Brisbane's stance of "Guaranteed no trade" was given to Pickering and Aish weeks ago. Hence, no announcements out of the Aish/Pickering camp.
But when Leigh put that "guarantee" into the public sphere, Liam and James would have known they weren't bluffing.
Pickers never announces until he is sure.
Whether Aish was Collingwood first and Brisbane second followed by the rest
or
Collingwood/Brisbane 50/50
Leigh Matthews made the choice for him....Brisbane, PSD or ND
