2 first round picks sounds a bit much for me. I want this deal done, but in the context of Dangerfield, it seems like we are paying a massive premium and mortgaging our future trading on one player.

You can't compare the Danger scenario with Treloar, Paddy could walk unless Adelaide matched the offer, Adelaide knew that they could not or would not match it, and knew they could not be too greedy as the Geelongs offer was better than the compo pick they would recieve, they effectively knew they were getting ripped if it was a normal trade scenario but a lot better than the FA pick that would have eventuated.

I agree. If we are getting some GC compo pick or North's first round for Seedsman (and maybe us throwing back a 3rd) then we should be offering that for Treloar, i.e. pick 7 and 15/19.

Seems like a silly move. Now Eddie will definitely make it his mission to destroy their academy.
I might be a bit out on my own on this one, I think they should have an academy.
The game needs to be developed and strong in the non football states for the betterment of the competition.

Not arguing for or against academies, just saying that pissing off Eddie is not a good idea (generally). See death of COLA as a good example.

So we have Conflicting Reports:

  • Jon Ralph Saying Dave Matthews in Holding the Trade Up
  • AFL.com.au(Peter Ryan and Nick Bowen) Saying the Trade is Close

So who to Believe

The more Dave Matthews wants to play funny buggers the more likely we are to feel free to try and land Treloar by other means. Since GC were willing to trade out pick 3 for pick 6 and Howe, I'm sure it's not beyond our scope to offer Seedsman, pick 7 and our 3rd round for GC's pick 3. We'll take Treloar there through the National Draft Matthews you penis.

Could but Both HS and AFL.com.au make it sound it's close and we have to pay Overs.

Matthews is doing this Because our President Eddie had a go at there Academies:mad:
IT's OK Dave I'll make sure it pisses rain up there for a decade, their midfield will have to train in a pool full of box jelly fish......the fokkers.

Fair enough.
I think it's time Eddie grew up and stop spouting off so much.
Don't get me wrong I love the guy but...

Dave Matthews has 'issues' that are well known in AFL circles.

We won't know if it's overs until 5 years from now.

If anyone of these guys are wearing a premiership medal in 2009, I'd say it was all worth it.

I'll get back to you on this in 4 years

Sure, but if they can have one, why can't we?

Admit kids in at about 13, before the real talent starts to show up, height etc.. limit the vic clubs to 2 per year and see how it goes. #equality

Nah Ed is brilliant for us. Always has our best interests at heart but does it in a subtle way.

Most important person at Collingwood in last 30 years at least (and maybe more as i only started supporting them then.)

Absolutely agree.
I hope he's president for as long as he's capable.
It's when he speaks publicly I'm talking about.

That's the 2nd time you've said that.
Big Footy is part of the AFL circle.
You can tell me, I won't tell anyone.
