Just received some horrible news, one of housemates has passed away unexpectedly this afternoon, aged 41. Another housemate told me they suspect it was suicide.

I'm really upset about this, he had only moved in a few months ago, seemed like an okay bloke, I wish I got to know him better, try and made more of an effort to talk to him, I was wrapped up in my own crap I guess, feeling a lot of guilt and despair right now. Been a very rough few months on a personal level. Can't help feeling that no one should die like John did. Poor, poor man.

Understandable. Still, you can't get down on yourself because you didn't stop to chat about the weather. You didn't know the guy. Who is to know what was going through his mind.

Sounds really shiity man but at the end of the day, you can't do anything more. What is done is done unfortunately.

Just celebrate all the good things that you did with him and don't dwell on why too much.

Thanks Jose. Think the worst of it is over now, the shock is worn off, I just feel a dreadful sadness and compassion for his family now, I am planning to attend his funeral to pay my respects.
