With the reduction in rotations, I think you need mids that can run and kick goals as a forward.

Also think there will be more players behind the ball and kicking will be even more important.

Riley bonner from SA is the best kick in the draft apparently. Mitchell hibberd is also a pretty good user and creator off half back. Both are bigger boys in the grant birchall mould.

Gresham is also good user, as is Harley balic and darcy tucker. Parish is probably the best of the mids, but he will be gone when we pick again.

I would be getting one of the big forwards with one of your top draft numbers. If your plan is 3-5 years of building, you rather him age 22 or so with 4 years in the system at the time you guys want to hit finals etc.

Seems like a more natural footballer than athlete.

In that case, he is a must get. Competitive spirit, wins the ball and tackles with authority. Just what we need to go alongside Crippa imo.

I'd also read SOS was keen but wasn't aware of his affection toward us. Hope that's indeed correct & we nab him. Really liked the two games of his on tv.

A mate of mine & myself try to watch a few games each year & pick 'our boy' for the following season. He was mine, Weitering aside obviously.

Here's what I think we'll draft. Did a bit of a Phantom to look at what other clubs will be after and thus, who'll still be around when out picks are called out.

1. Jacob Weitering - Key Defender
8. Jade Gresham - Inside Mid
11. Clayton Oliver - Mid
19. Harry McKay - Key Forward / Ruck
F/S. SOSOS - Key Forward

Would really love a Francis, Curnow or Weiderman to slide, but I don't think they will get to us unfortunately. Other players such as Balic and Milera seem a bit too "icing on the cake" types. I really think we need to go for gut running beasts that love the contest and get their hands dirty. Skills and leadership should be massive priorities.
