You also display a lot of emotion & passion. Personally, I prefer Perse's passion rather than your labaling of other posters & constantly attacking the man. I find you an angry weak old man, if I'm being totally honest.

A bit hypocritical there mate. As for old man, true. Weak. Dont know, still run half marathons and train three days a week. But I have never been very strong so you may be right.

John & Rors you have to give something to get 1st round draft choices. Why are so many Saints supporters that bound up in their loyalties for the club and players they cant see their short comings. Armitage IMO is NOT the type of player that is going to help the team make or win finals. He is slow and an inconsistent and often poor kick. How about thinking about 3-4 years down the track when we are realistically a chance of improving, rather than what Armo provides the team now.

Neither of you have answered my question in how many of Armo's clearances result in the Saints mantaining possession or scoring. I dont have the stats but I would suggest it would be less than 30% his kicking and decision making is that poor. Even when free and running in to deliver the ball into the forward 50 in general play his ability to hit a traget or make a good decision is very limited.

YES he wins clearances and contests but does nothing with it. Have a look at his game last week and see how many of his kicks were cut off by the Dogs sweepers? Maintaining possession is critical in the modern game and he is another weak link in our chain.

As an example if Melbourne had offerred pick 4 la
st year eg Oliver I would give them Armitage and more.

So John how about qualifying your opinion rather than the juvenile response of 'No idea'.

Neither have you answered how many clearances your magic draft selection is going to get & achieve easy 2nd possession. It's all ifs, buts & maybes on your side of things: he could be Dustin Martin or he could end up being Jonno O'rourke. On my side, I've got Armo & I know that I'm gonna get 110% from him every week & last year that was nearly good enough to be All Australian. Have some respect please

Not sure you can demand an answer to a question that would require stats which aren't freely available, when you don't have the supporting evidence but still rely on its absence and presuppose the message from those stats as validation of your point.

Saying Armo is inconsistent and a poor kick without some stats to back it up simply becomes another anecdotal opinion.
Great! Grab a number and take a seat, this forum is full of them.

Not sure anyone suggests Armo is the best going 'round but he is an important part in helping us win games.

Last post on anything but D&T and Sandy but need ti be courteous to you post.

Dont think we have much of a shot. Our mids are slow and just dont get the clearances required.
Hoping that when it gets down there our forwards can strech their under strength backline.
Cloke and Fasolo are real concerns.
Give us the tripe from last week we are no hope

Don't be so bloody pedantic.

Anyway please take it to PM if you want to continue as it is taking the OP way OT.

The point was made that Martin has problems in his life outside football that is troubling to many AFL clubs.

This is completely on topic. We are talking about a player who is a FA at the end of next season. Couldn't be anymore on topic. And if you make an accusation like that I think it should be backed up. I know it isn't 52 times a year he stuffs up but if its on a weekly basis lets then go for 12 times a year, a monthly basis. I reckon if the bloke didn't have all the tatts then no one would really care. Some guy just called him a dog. Why? What has he done to get that. He hardly really gets reported on the ground. What I find amazing is people seem to think our club is that poor we cant handle a person like that. Well I think our club can. Maybe I overate our club. Why can Richmond handle him and we cant? Its the same with trading with Essendon. Why can they do trades that favour them but we cant. Well I reckon we can. We need to stop thinking our club isn't capable of doing great things with maybe a damaged person or on the trade table. Martin for nothing and we say no? You have to be joking.

What do you hope to gain by asking ridiculous questions. MG statement was a turn of phrase but you take it literally.

As I said you are being pedantic and just trying to score some imaginary victory over MG.

Name the mistakes Martin hasn't made this week. See everyone can ask unanswerable questions.

And someone called him a dog? Stiff, that's their opinion, see from what he has done in the media, his family connections and his appearance. That is the guys opinion and perception. Its not up to you to defend Martin from that opinion even if you don't agree with it.

FWIW I would not want Martin at our club. My perception of him is that he is a bogan, and a violent one at that. His rather was deported for criminal activities and his son seems to have embraced that type of culture.

As well as that I think he has not performed under finals pressure. Let the Tiger has their prize. And why did no other club approach him when he wanted to leave the Tigers? Three years ago? Maybe but what has changed with him?

You saw the furore when Carlisle had a line and stupidly put it on Snapchat, and you want the likes of Martin?

Seriously JB if you cant see the difference between being accused of something and needing proof then I cant help you. Doesn't matter if MG or whoever said something as a turn of phrase he said it and meant it. Now I know he didn't mean on a weekly basis but you don't say something like that if its a yearly basis and you don't say something that without proof otherwise It should be called out. I know you don't like calling out these apparent ITK but I will. Imagine if I said players like Jack Steven stuff up on a weekly basis. Id expect to be called out even though we know Jack has stuffed up a couple of times. And not wanting a bogan, well there goes a few of our players. Havent seen to much violence from him but those neck tats suggest he maybe. As for his father well who cares. I haven't seen any videos from Martin and secondly we paid a lot more for Carlisle than Martin would cost which is nil. And yes it is ok.
