Nah Paul Little's parting gift to the club will take care of it because the bill is going to be astronomical. The number I heard was $45 million which I doubt the AFL will cover.

While we're out it we should recruit Gary Ablett and Nat Fyfe and play them off half back. Good strategy to put gun midfielders out of the midfield that we happen to be a fan of atm.

$45 Million is chicken feed in comparison to what the AFL is forking out to GWS & Gold Coast.

It is only my theory but I am sure they can use some creative accounting to make it look like Essendon & Little paid for it.

No need to make it look that way from what I can gather Little deliberately gifted them an amount to cover any potential damages. The AFL to my knowledge won't pay a cent for the very reason you outlined that they are already haemorrhaging bulk $'s due to GC and GWS.

Agreed Heppell is gone. No way you stay with an employer that you are in legalities with.

Initially when I heard Heppell was suing the Drug Cheats I thought he was gone.
But, the club and its regime is directly responsible for the loss of a massive personal sponsorship. Amongst other remunerations.
Put yourself in Hepppell's shoes, you grew up supporting the Pies, you got to play for the Pies, you wen through the identical situation as Heppell, I could see myself, both getting an out of court settlement, and then, back in as captain of the side, the side that I'd loved all my life. And as for the Turd who caused most of the mess, he's long, long gone by then.

It's clear as day the club owe Heppell $1M plus. And the air must be cleared and the club must pay up

So I disagree with the concept that, 'no way he can stay at the club', but I can see where those were coming from as that's how I saw this initially, that said, him suing the club cetainly changes the odds of whether he stays or goes, with punters jumping on the latter, if there were odds, which there should be.
