I think what posters are saying is that if we didn't extend his contract, we wouldn't have to pay him out. And if he was any good, we would have THEN offered him a new contract. Only if his contract has a no payout clause linked to performance would that be acceptable business practice by any reasonable commercial measure.How has it killed us? He'd still be coaching right now whether we signed him or not.
If we decide he's not the man we'll pay him out. There are clauses in contracts to cover this. It certainly won't send us under or "kill us". Get a grip.
You obviously are either aware of this clause, or forget to think before you answered that question. Hopefully it is the former.
