How has it killed us? He'd still be coaching right now whether we signed him or not.

If we decide he's not the man we'll pay him out. There are clauses in contracts to cover this. It certainly won't send us under or "kill us". Get a grip.
I think what posters are saying is that if we didn't extend his contract, we wouldn't have to pay him out. And if he was any good, we would have THEN offered him a new contract. Only if his contract has a no payout clause linked to performance would that be acceptable business practice by any reasonable commercial measure.
You obviously are either aware of this clause, or forget to think before you answered that question. Hopefully it is the former.

Yeah but I'm not the one saying I couldn't handle going to the game am I?

It is your right yes. Just questioning why someone who doesn't care enough to go to the game then cares enough to come on here and post negative comments about the game and team.
Maybe he has had the care kicked out of him. Everyone is different, and he is entitled to take his frustration out in any legal way, without having his loyalty questioned.

Yup. If rumours were true some even signed for under their current market value to keep the group together for that mythical thing called a Premiership, similar to what Geelong's stars did. I wonder how they feel about it now?
Considering freo and Ess were the ones flashing the cash, prob pretty good

Have to agree.
I can understand why they are like that - but they're paid for the future of the club - not to be bogged down over the past - they have to be better than that.
I've felt like this since watching the pumping by Carlton in that elimination final. Still haven't got over it. And was completely convinced after the Port one. Can't yet talk about Norf.
Just hope we don't have another of those late season runs to paper over the cracks and have to endure another 2 more seasons of this.
Most games of any coach in history without winning a final just sums it up really.
I'll keep buying my membership too...but I can't go to games anymore...round 1 may have been a win but it didn't look good for what was to come.

I'm with you on almost every point, Tiger, but I'd encourage you to keep turning up to games. These times are when you find out which players are truly Tigers and which are imposters defiling the jumper.

The media are not relevant to the performance and sustainability of the club.

The media just want more advertising revenue and to sell papers

I'm not going to argue about it longer than this one reply, but I beg to differ.

I'd say there is a substantial amount of evidence that our performance on-field gets worse when the media put the acid on, and it has been that way most of my adult life.

The 2014 streak came after the media had wandered away to report something else more interesting and topical than "Richmond are shit".

Actually when is the hierarchy gong to come out with how they're going to rectify our current crisis? Or are they in the belief we will win our last 9 games? I think 70+k members and all stakeholders deserve an explanation
"This season is still very much alive. We were 3 and 10 in '14, and made finals."

Yes I do agree but Hardwick is still a massive problem and he's the one that needs to go first.

I think employing Chocco for the rest of the season would smoothen the transition. Can't agree with giving Knights only 15 weeks. That's a pretty tough ask for him to come in and have an impact within 15 weeks. I think he needs at least one offseason to teach them how to play football again. No footballing genius could turn around this mess in 15 weeks.
New rules state that you can't poach an assistant until the season ends so Knights is out of the question anyway for now.

Completely different opposition as well. Not sure who all those who think a resurrection is still on the cards the season, think will drop off out of the 8.
exactly which comes back to that line in 2014,"Are we growing at a faster rate than our competitors?"
Which Peg and Ben gave all of us the answer last year when they said they were opting for stability
Sadly we have been left in our wake

There are some really sad, pathetic, fickle, ignorant, pitiful, disloyal, ultra-negative and disturbing Richmond supporters. So much anger, out of all proportion. I suppose all clubs have them.

there is a rule also that you can't talk to contracted players but we all know otherwise.

Also, how long until Nostradumbass, TigerImposter, SunshineTiger and docko911 accuse Richmond of only hiring Dan Richardson because of his last name?

Edit: How could I forget my good mate Gosha.

I thought his name was Danny Discount and if youre going to tag us do it properly

Completely different side then
The bad signs this year are far more stark, oppo kicking 20goals a week is a major obstacle to winning games , worse still that it effectively blown out ~75% from last years average
If we had contained oppo this season to reg <13g and not lost by more than 25p or so,,,,,tbh I wouldn't be massively worried as we have Players returning that will make a difference and would conceivabley bridge that gap.
Sadly the gap is like the Grand Canyon , conceding goals , plenty and kicking FA....we will improve some but not likely enough to win games ,,,,,marvellous isn't it

Haha, i lack the drive to express my point in detail these days.

Didn't I tell you NOT to quote me on that? Sheesh. (Isn't "sheesh" a great word ... like they were going to say "shit" or "bum, wees, poos" and then thought "Better keep it clean for the kids" and said "sheesh".

Big shout out here:
Lookin' right at ya yodelly dodelly doo Ned Flanders.

Yep agree plus our bottom ten were either better or more experienced.
Our bottom ten now consists of a couple of good young kids with some poor mature players. Also our only guns firing at their peak are Rance and Jack . Maric was influential in his return in 14 , now we have no rucks of any credibility.
