I'd start by stopping this practice of trying to fix every problem with a trade.
Draft, develop, improve. Make do with what we've got until we develop some half decent replacements in the twos. The time for quick fixes should be over. We should be trading out B-graders for early draft picks.
But, of course, in October, the usual suspects here will be demanding we trade draft picks out for this player or that player who wants out at a rival club...

Once Rance gets traded out reality sets in and people know where we are at and only the brave and strong stick around renewing the leadership team!! Then absolutely smash the 2017 draft after doing our best with the 2016 draft and see what happens.

I get why you are saying Rance to GWS (to make the club realise that our backline is quite ordinary without him), but the likes of Rance and Riewoldt are not players you'd want to get rid of. It isn't easy finding players so good in these positions, and the draftees (if we decide to rebuild) can learn a lot from them.

Rance and JR have to go like Richo had to go.

Rance has to go to destroy out back line and set us up for gun 2027 draft picks in the super draft.

Its a no brainer. In fact Rance going might be the only thing that saves JR not going.

I assume Lids will likely go in 2017 for a draft pick etc.. as well.


This is the whole problem with RFC, they treat players as children instead of working with them to win premierships and finding the path for success!!

I agree. Rance and Jack are players we should be building our team around not trading. If we are going to trade then B Ellis would be my pick. Doubt we'd get much on current form though.

If current players retire due to a rebuild they will not see success anyway because they would be born losers not being able to roll with the punches!!

As far as I am concerned at the moment, Reece Mckenzie had the balls to post on bigfooty apparently so a lot of the others are atm a bunch of bananas!!!

Reece has shown more leadership than just about anyone else at the club embracing the fans!!!

I think Reece should go to training and call the others bananas for not having the balls to post on big footy!

I commend Reece for preparing to open himself up to any potential wrath and accountability as well. The funny thing is, for all the challenges Reece might be seemingly facing his posting act has shown more leadership than many others in the club atm!!!

You know for all the bulls shit people speak KB is the standout leader of this club because he brought in the premierships like Graeme Richmond!!!!!

KB is one of the few that is an actual player champions of the club, a lot of others are bullshit artists!!

KB didn't tolerate shit either, if he felt things where not adequate he had no hesitation to move on. At least KB was brave enough to consider and make a decision and facilitate a rebirth!!!

At least KB had enough self respect to set ****ing standards around him!!!!

We have 15 or so quality players to build a side around but the bottom 7 or 8 aren't up to it/don't contribute much each week.

The best thing about the injuries we sustained last night is that it will force Dimma to play some more of the kids, and ultimately with a side full of kids we should finish bottom 4 to 6 and get a reasonable pick. Much better outcome than continuing to play the same old faces and battle to 9th or 10th.

And Trade Rance? Put the crack pipe down Mr Magic ! I'm not ready to go beyond the thunder dome!

I can't see Hardwick getting the sack after they've just extended his contract after two years. I think this is what will happen;

Mellor and Williams sacked and replaced end of year.
Jackson sacked and replaced
Hartley will see out his contract for next year and then gone.

I see a lot of superficial posters on here over the years and they ride the wins and say all is merry and when things go astray all they do is pronounce sack the coach!!!! It is the same circle over and over with history repeating!!! Its like Homer Simpson or Bart, getting their hands burnt reaching out for a hot pizza on the oven but they can't stop reaching out and repeatedly getting hurt!!

My attitude is life is not that simple and are there any engineers out there that know how to construct things that last the distance and get proven results over the long term?

The only reason you would trade Jack & Alex is for these guys to taste the success they deserve. As they are the heart & soul of the club & give 100% every week & both wear there hearts on their sleeves. The same as Richo used too & unfortunately he never got any success either.
Until this club realizes mediocre doesn't cut the mustard, we will continue to tread water or eventually sink further.

Yes we had injuries ..but you know what I can't help thinking .. Carlton had injuries last week ...literally no rotations in the last quarter ..but they won ..they kept fighting ..............to many of our ( and I use the term loosely )players didn't and don't ...they are not prepared to fight for the jumper ,combined with the way we set up around clearances....we are weak willed and poorly coached
