Yeah mate, KM7 MK-II and a C-1 Blackjack SLS. Schecter's branding can be a bit deceptive, they're both labelled as Diamond Series even though they're out of their premium South Korean factory (same as LTD) unlike the rest of the Diamond Series from their cheaper Indonesian factory (same factory that Ibanez Premium use). The KM7 is their current flagship production model and was a premium price for a Schecter, the Blackjack I got a good deal on because I don't think they're actually in production any more since they're pushing the new C-1 Hellraiser and Hybrid lines but they have heaps of stock still around. Going to make a massive call here and say that the Blackjack is the best spec'd guitar for black metal I've come across. Probably some time next year I'm going to see about getting a custom Schecter out of their custom shop in California.
As for who Keith Merrow is (who's signature line the KM is), here's him with Jeff Loomis who is another Schecter artist
Haha! Sounds like I could pack my Der Sturmer and Sunwheel shirts for there then.
Good stuff man. I've got an old Korean made Ibanez EX Series, they make quality axes over there. I'm at the pub so I'll check the clip out later.

Would not be a problem in Asia period.

Massive difference between the old Korean stuff and the newer Indonesian stuff. I've got an old Korean made RG270 that would pass as a premium by some of the standards today. Mind you though the Indonesian stuff is getting better (Schecter Omen stuff from the last few years would pass as Korean made if you didn't know I would reckon) and despite the Ibanez Premium branded stuff being made in Indonesia it's actually a separate part of the same factory and staffed by Korean and Jap trained luthiers. I've got an Ibby RG721 which is Ibanez Premium branded and Indo made but the fretwork is brilliant and the basswood is lighter and sounds better than the shitty dense and heavy basswood that is more commonly used in lower end stuff.

What pub?
Been binging lately on Judas Priest (all 70s albums), Darkthrone (ABITNS through Panzerfaust) and Autopsy (first two). All of these bands are classic, I think Stained Class is one of my favourite albums ever, Darkthrone probably have the best riffs in Norwegian black metal (Immortal coming close second) and Autopsy it's been all about their depraved leads for me recently

Yeah I'd buy a 270 if I get it at a good price, or I'll wait to see what the 30th anniversary RG is like. I recently soldered in a new pickup and had brass sustain block machined for the EX.
Unfortunatly I'm better at working on guitars than playing the friggen things
), sweep a few shapes up and down the neck, but when it comes to shredding like the virtuosos I just can't do it. It requires playing really loose and I can only do it at the best of times. They play fluid, the coordination is just there and just let their hands and fingers do the work. I play far too regimented, everything has to be precise but sometimes if I just let go it happens, the rest of the time it sounds like a mess haha. Apparently one day it just clicks. I've been at it 16 years and wondering when that will be. I believe it though. I used to think sweeping arpeggios would be something impossible for me. One day picking up the guitar and going through my practice routine it just happened. So waiting for the day I wake up and turn into Michael Romeo.

Drive past it a bit but never been there. Assume pub tab, decent bistro and cold beer ala Blackburn Hotel.

Ripper mate. How do it impact your tone? I imagine shit loads more sustain than before?
Haha about working on them. I'm pretty similar. I know all the nuances of the tone woods, constructions and component combos, but playing wise I just can't quite match the pros. I can shred a handful of scales in all positions over jam tracks (only need major, minor, harmonic minor, pentatonic minor/blues minor for metal!), sweep a few shapes up and down the neck, but when it comes to shredding like the virtuosos I just can't do it. It requires playing really loose and I can only do it at the best of times. They play fluid, the coordination is just there and just let their hands and fingers do the work.
