Got through unscathed which is the main thing. Didn't find much of the ball but was quite clearly cruising in 3rd gear. Didn't see him burst once. Essentially a conditioning exercise to build touch, minutes and confidence from what I could tell.

running it in

Yep 2 weeks in a row is a significant step! If he can just keep building in the VFL and get confidence back in his body it would be a fantastic result by seasons end. His only issue whilst leading up to the finals - might be holding his spot in the side.

Does anyone know how he pulled up and how is tracking to up the intensity on game day?

I agree, happy to have him cruise through the rest of the season and get a full pre season going into next year. a full pre season under his belt would work wonders. with any luck he'll be suffering from leather poisoning round 1 next year

I look forward to the day when we become aware that he is now unaware of his hamstring awareness [emoji4]

Didn't Rioli have constant hamstring problems a couple years ago? He was able to be fixed and he certainly hasn't lost any speed or agility, in fact has become one of the best players in the comp and won a norm smith.

I think Freeman will be just fine.
He had to re-learn how to run. That wouldnt be easy but it worked.

I like the new approach. Rather than wrap him in cotton wool and tell him everything is gonna be ok, we're letting him find his confidence on his own. It's obvious he's not going 100% flat out, but slowly his subconscious will take over his conscious actions (of holding back) and before he knows it he will be going flat out without even realising.

If we can't make finals, and his game builds to getting mid 20s in the VFL, do we give him a game against Brisbane?

I would love that. Give him a small taste. Imagine how hungry he'd be for more next year.

A lot needs to go right for him before that can happen (and wrong for the club that we aren't in the finals race)

nope, make him earn it next year keep him hungry.

he was called FIGJAM for a reason as a junior :p:p:p

Just out of interest, I wonder how many players in the AFL were Figjam at some point. 50%? 80%? Almost all of them were big fish in small ponds for 5+ years before entering the big league.
