We need to keep playing one less tall in the back-line. No surprise we have a lot more run with smalls like Ruggles and Bews back there.
Cowan isn't upto it but I suspect the coaching staff will want to see a bit more before deciding his fate at seasons end.

Guthrie and Blicavs need a spell. Play someone like Scooter and Horlin-Smith who will want to give it a red hot go and see if Guthrie and Blicavs recapture that drive in the VFL.

Geelong failed to beat up on Essendon when they were in better form last time they met so hoping for a 80-100 point drubbing is probably not realistic.

Scott Selwood, Caddy and Henderson in.

There will be some temptation to play Clark too, just in case he is needed should there be a September injury.

McCarthy, Cowan, Kolo will be nervous. And there might be one rested player if they are a bit sore.

Not sure they need a spell and it probably won't happen anyway, but if we're to have a real chance in September they're two players who need to lift their games significantly.

Don't think we should go overboard with the changes, Henderson, Caddy and Selwood should be in contention, McCarthy and Cowen would (should) probably be the first two in the firing line, though I may be on my own with McCarthy, seems to escape scrutiny despite offering very little.

Agree with the first 3 but there's no way that Clark can play. He still needs to build fitness through the VFL. In any case his form doesn't warrant inclusion. The MC made a mistake last time and hopefully won't do it again.

Crows are currently 4.4% behind us - roughly how much would they need to beat Essendon by today to overtake us?

As for next week, time to be ruthless. If we meander along to a 4-5 goal win it will probably feel like a loss given it's clear top 2/top 4 will be decided by percentage. The Bombers have put up the odd competitive performance of late (v GWS and St Kilda) so we need to crack then early and pile on the goals.

OUT:
Lonergan (managed)
Menzel (managed - keep those ankles and knees away from Etihad)
Menegola
Cowan

IN:
Henderson
Caddy
S. Selwood
Lang

I was surprised Kersten was dropped v Dogs but it's hard to make a case for him getting back in next week with all of Hawkins, Stanley and Smith very good or better.

I'm still not sure what our best 22 is come finals but I expect the players on the fringe (Lang, Murdoch, GHS, Clark) to get at least another game in case they're needed.

You mat be correct but I for one will be p****d if he gets dumped, has shown enough in only two games to have him ahead of McCarthy and Cockatoo to name just a couple who should go before he does.

Selection is going to be a fine line now.

In some ways I like what Clarkson said about not resting anyone from here on.
But players like Menzel need to be protected, and we do have players in the VFL that should be looked at.

I'm fine with any changes as long as we hold the right structures.

A good 10% in pc would be handy vs the bombers. Again only necessary changes for me. Maybe another week in the two's for cads but ssel time is right now, 4 weeks to settle into a role b4 finals.

Maybe Menz needs a rest. He looked like an old bloke when he jogged to the interchange on Friday night.

On form I would drop Kolo and Cocky but we need to keep getting games into the youngsters.

They will rest some players. Won't know final 22 until the first week of finals. We really need to win this one big. 80 points is what we want.

What's with stealing my line eh Seeds (in the previous thread, sorry can't quote it)?

I don't get it, I like Ruggles in the side
