...that's the perfect cover!!!

Ha ha ha seriously, it's already not part of the five-article splash screen when you load up AFL.com - it's already tenth as at 11.30pm same day it broke.

Has some fantastic language too. For instance,

"Fairfax Media reports the AFL has finished an investigation into"

The AFL's most popular mouthpiece is reporting that another news agency is reporting that the AFL has finished an investigation. So, they can't even bring themselves to admit something happened.

"We certainly thought the report that was commissioned independently by us covered all bases," he said. That's surprising.

"The report found that there was no really significant basis to support the allegations that were put forward. Fortuitous.

"Our club, in my view, has acted properly every step of the way. Define our club - is it everyone except who you'll eventually throw under the bus?

"We received allegations, we took them seriously, we had them investigated, we alerted the AFL immediately, and their process is ongoing. Yup, their process is ongoing... but yours is finished. Let's see if the AFL have learned anything from the Essendrug saga.
Caroline Wilson said last night on 3AW that the GWS investigation lacked the financial and technical scope the AFL had and that all 3 were in big trouble. Sounds like they've found hard evidence and I think it was text related

Of course he didn't

Wouldn't make much sense to throw yourself under the bus.
Strange timing for it to surface, right before GWS first finals appearance.

Was it Port or Adelaide that had players' whereabouts unknown or at least they weren't where they were meant to be if they needed to be tested some time this year?
That seemed to get out in the media pretty quickly, yet this has stayed hidden for a year.
My f***ing God.

No Sydney based journo gives a crap about AFL players.

She'd know
Like her or not ( and I do) she is a top journo - probably the best covering the AFL

Was it us? Players didn't update their address details when they moved house or something

Its a ******* joke that players should be woken up by 'drug testers' at 5 am when their asleep. Why cant they stand out the front of the club in the morning and grab them before training?

Waiting for a specific known time allows people who want to use PEDs and masking agents then have the perfect timelines to work around being caught so very easily, so drug testing is just flat out useless then.

The first morning pee is the most concentrated and has all the 'good' bits in it. Any properly hydrated athlete would have very diluted urine later in the day.

Westhoff as well, but he's ageing. Austin broken leg hasn't he? Shouldn't be too bad but may interrupt his pre season.
I thought of Westhoff but they never play him as a key post, but as a third either forward or back.

Didn't know Austin got injured but shouldn't miss much given it's the offseason holiday.

Grubby Allen leaked it.

Don't believe the stuff about him leaving on friendly terms. He was disliked by quite a few GWS stuff and he is my tip who leaked it.
He's implicated too. No way he leaked it.

AFL learned to never ever go public with anything. AFL learned that only when forced to go public do they then handball their "now closed, lengthy investigation" across to ASADA. AFL continue to be a ****ing joke.

It's weird that in the real world (as opposed to a satire world like in The Simpsons or something) there's a league that picks and chooses what to come down hard on and what to sweep under the carpet. (Looking at you, Integrity Unit and the MRP).

The AFL Integrity Unit would be a fantastic one for the Working Dog team to do a mockumentary on.

At the end of the day you realise that the AFL is such an immature competition in comparison to the likes of the big national sporting leagues around the world.

From drug policies to tinkering and interpretation of rules.

I can't like this enough.

Like Frontline or Utopia but set in the world of sports.
