The Dogs are playing on emotion and instinct. It's a dangerous combination.

I've been arguing for hours with my mates in texts.

Next week is our toughest challenge with a lot of sore bodies. I think they'll find a way though.

No one gives us a chance against GWS but if we get past the Dogs I am really confident we'll give it to GWS freaking hard ...

I'm just making the point that you were having a go at us for not being graceful in victory when it isnt something you or a lot of Hawk supporters ever do.

You don't very well when things come back at you.

I think you'll find losing a final by 2 points to an arch-rival rarely brings out the best in anyone. I've been fairly muted about the whole thing because all the success we've had over the past few years makes it immeasurably easier to tolerate. By contrast the 'lean years' you've endured since 2011 have made you guys appreciate September success a bit more, and want to rub it in our faces a bit extra.

Best case scenario is we meet again in the GF.

GWS were the only team I was worried about entering the finals.

Chappy can confirm that. It's their run that worries me.

And I loathe them for obvious reasons. I'd rather Hawthorn win than those plastic pricks.

My apologies, I thought you didn't rate them, that ****ing run as you say- hard at it to with talent to burn.
I think the result today works against the Hawks/Geelong GF that everyone is hoping for.
I personally think we match up better against Sydney than you do even at the SCG, and believe you would have had GWSs measure comfortably at home as you can match them in contested/clearance and they still dont travel that well.
Sydney vs GWS Grand Final sounds good hey?

You are right in saying that I didn't rate them for the sole reason that up until the last game of the season they hadn't beaten a top 8 team away from home, but that changes against Geelong as they have the cattle to expose our one true weakness... Leg speed and run.

I think Sydney are overrated and I gave GWS a big chance of an upset which turned out to be more than a hunch.

Out of the 6 sides left I'd prefer Sydney or Adelaide in the prelim which works out as the scenario anyway.

I do have a soft spot for the Dogs with my cousin having played for them so I'm torn a little.

I'm as nervous as hell now but I wasn't for the two weeks leading into Friday nights game.

Personally Im happy that we were clearly the better team and I know all you handbaggers were expecting a 10 goal thrashing.
Having beaten Collingwood by a point only last game I know how enjoyable it is BUT there is next week and next year to think about.

I'd say they had all shifted back because they thought breust would be having a shot, maybe they were extra cautious on Cyril, can't believe he had so much space, can't believe motlop tried the miracle goal instead of running it over but the trigger happy umps may have pinged him for deliberate

I just watched the 2nd half again and Hawks werent the better team. They were better in patches but from the moment we kicked 3 quick goals in the 3rd the Hawks were outplayed. The majority of the final quarter was played in our half and it was only some poor forward entries that kept it close.

Gave Selwood a sneaky kidney punch at the end of the 1st quarter as well. He's a very tough man when the other bloke isn't looking at him.
