Sorry dude, that's more delusional than some of the Crows fans who thought Danger was gonna stay !!

Well I am not an insider like yourself with intimate details of his contract unfortunately.

Lol I think Essendon would be more than happy to trade J Merrett for Mitchell... Think you mean Zac mate ;)

Yeah glad im not in charge whoops

no, Mitchell is the same age as Treloar and has arguably shown more at AFL level than Treloar had before Collingwood gave up 2 x first round picks for him.. Would have to think Mitchells trade value would be something similar.

Okay make it picks 1 and 19! Swans would love getting pick 1!

Nah Treloar has definitely shown more than Mitchell both pre and post trade.

Stats might be similar, but Treloar is a much more damaging player.

Agreed - Titch can at times get a ton of it, great for DT - but you'd take Treloar every day of the week.

Not a bag on Titch - fine player, but you can't compare him to Treloar.

IMO - not dissimilar to comparing Parker to Titch - both might have comparable stats, but it's a no-brainer who's a better player.

Pick in the 8-12 range is fair for mine.

Too much in my opinion. If he nominated the Blues as club of choice instead of Hawks would your assessment of his trade cost be the same?

Agree. You just need to look at the contract offer he's getting (~380 to stay, 550 to go) to see where he's rated. That's well above average, but far from Elite. I would expect equivalent of 8-12 to get it done.

very different players. Both ball magnets, but one is a link up master & the other is a line breaker.
But if you talk consistency, i think Treloar's 2016 vs Mitchell's has him ahead.

So we agree on 8-12 - where that may get harder is where you view your own players. What Hawks player would you view as a suitable 'straight swap'?

Note: you wanting them to leave doesn't matter, contract doesn't matter - just a player on your list you view as an 8-12 pick. I suspect you overvalue your own, while fairly valuing others, but I'll leave that to you to decide.

Let's look at the lower end of 8-12. (Seeing as he is OOC.)

Hawks have a future 1st, also they look likely to make finals again (But hardly a garented top 4 Finnish in 2017.)
So 11-18.
With the chance of Hawks future 1st falling below the valid criteria stakenives will need to be added.(but steaknives are steaknives. They won't blow you away)

Future 1st and later pick(or fringe player). It's fair and you know it.

I don't understand why Mitchell would want to leave Sydney, unless he sees too many good Academy players coming through. Sydney are paying him well enough. He gets to play in a strong team, manages to play consistent finals footy and has a reasonable chance of being in a premiership team. It is his Old Man's club. That sounds like some good reasons to stay.
If he decides to go, Hawthorn would have to come up with the sort of deal that would get O'Meara. I can't see them managing it. They don't have enough good players who want to leave or any draft picks that Sydney would want.
