I find it funny how the media revert straight to Vickery going to the draft if we match rather than forcing a trade with Hawthorn which would be the next course of action.
Also funny how Vickery is going to be rucking more.
He will love that... lol.

Would be like living on the dole at yer folks house to being in a Chinese slave labour death camp for poor TV.

If we can somehow bring in Hartlett and Prestia whilst keeping hold of pick 6 that would be an enormous win for us.
Next years first for Hartlett
Edwards + pick 25 (Vickery compo) for Prestia.
Get it done Balmey

Surely we dont trade next years first for HH SURELY

When you're a desperate list and talent manager who has done FA you'll risk it. We have form in giving away high picks for not much return.

Make or break for Dan and Blair. Will go all in

Heard that Lennon might wanna join the Dons.

How about pick 26 the Dons get from Melbourne for Hibberd comes to us for Lennon.

Trade our pick six and 26 to Port for Hartlett and pick 9.

Trade pick 9 to GC for Prestia.

Get second round compo for Ty pick 25 and take to the draft.

Keep all 2017 picks and all we lose is Lennon and pick 6 for Hartlett and Prestia.
Question for you, what do you see in Hartlet that I don't? That scenario is a disaster, out go pick 6 Ty and Lennon for a guy desperate to get to us and one who knocked us back last year but now wants our coin.

Our ace card with Prestia is he comes to us or goes to the draft. He has told them that. They have no choice but take our best offer which is looking more likely to be a player than pick six. Thus ain't the old Richmond, Balme is in charge of Dan Richos old role now, new direction, no stupid stuff. The Yarran clusterf*** should have been the eye opener our club needed.

There fans are ferals alright only fans ive ever had arguments at the footy with on a regular basis...
never notice em

maybe cos im 6'8 and on roids though

reckon we should be looking at Downie from GWS too, as the AFL has cut GWS down to have the same list size as every other club now, so they are keen to offload some players.

Get nankervis and downie. Downie will cost bugger all.

So they still have more players and cap for another 2 seasons... Agree re Downie and Nankervis though

So you're the bloke who listens to Finey?

I'll admit I was listening as I was on my way home... texted in to explain his role as backup to Hampson and..... well that's it. He read out my text but left out the bit where I said even a simpleton like him could see we needed cheap insurance for the giraffe (Hampson).

When was the last r1 we gave away , Nathan brown wasn't it ?

before wines, who? they have already signed most of the guys who are any good on long deals (which is part of their problem)
Trengove Pittard S.Gray Hombsch Young. Those 5 may not be top line talent but they are important to Port and will no doubt be wanting some extra coin next year to hang around and that's before any approaches to new players. So as I said they have the want and need to move on Hartlett if they can, unfortunately they backed themselves into a corner last year when they got spooked and signed him up on big money.

Why does everyone think we are giving six for Prestia?
Why do people think we would give a similar value pick for a player that is 3-4 years older coming off a shocking year.
2017 first rounder for Prestia.
Shane Edwards and a third rounder to Port for Hartlett
Conca for Nankervis.

Vickery compo pick and the pick we get for Lennon packaged up for a first round pick for 2017.

This way we still have first round picks for both years.
Shane Edwards can get back to his home state.

Simple.

I've said it many times but I'm happy to say it again. Neither pick 6 or Deledio will be used to get Prestia!

I actually don't mind that senerio of giving up next years 1st if we get HH along with Prestia. But keeping pick 6 is a must. How we get around that God knows.
What if we finish bottom and we have given next years first?
Not out of the question.

Gil stated last week that the 18 clubs will be on the same cap and list size from next season.

This thread is going to blow up come trade week with the amount of player movement that will happen relating to Richmond.
It's been flat out tonight.

they will take what they can get, they may hold out till the last few minutes of trade period but in the end they have no cap room so will take what they can get in the end as they really have no other choice

I've heard that if the offer isn't what they want he'll simply stay.

Funny quote from Hardwick - Vickery "is firmly in my best 25"
but not in his best 22. Think that means he's an emergency when the best 22 is available.
Company line until the ink is dry on a new contract that means he has gtfo , nothing to see there

When we start winning games again you'll forget all about it...
Winning games means nothing.
We will win games if we do it, but it's just papering the cracks.
I'd rather us do it properly and i would cop us being on the bottom it wouldn't bother me.

Not out of the question.
Not even the most negative part of me can think that. But a top 4 draft pick in a strong draft for a B grader coming off a poor year is a chance and the reason I would avoid this scenario.

If Richmond was responsible for Hartlett inflated contract, Richmond now considering taking on his contract is akin to Carlton trying to recruit Yarran.
Not if they pay him what they think he's worth and let PA pay the balance.

pick 25 for ty helps us out massively. can put lennon and 25 together and try and get another early first rounder to hopefully secure brodie.

There's no way this club should trade away future firsts after the season we just had.
We were a mile off top 8 let alone top 4.

We have one ruckman whose only skill is tap work.
We only have one genuine key forward who we refuse to play near the goals.
Our captain is as weak as piss when he gets a tag.
We have zero KP players coming through from previous drafts.
We were in the bottom 4 teams for scores against AND scores for!! We have one of the worst defenses and worst forward lines in the AFL!! YET some of you are still deluded to think there's a premiership window for this team because of our so called 'top 5'. Let me just let you all in on a little secret..... our 'top 5' isn't that good!!!
We need to REBUILD.

I'm fine with Prestia for AT WORST pick 6. But if we start bringing in players like Motlop or Hartletts for highly valuable draft picks then this club is in a far worse position then what we all realise.
When you put it that way.....:huh::huh:
