I have absolutely no idea what this has to do with Greenwood. I suspect its a pretty poor attempt to make me look stupid by suggesting I said Marsh was walking out on Collingwood. One problem. I have never said or even insinuated that Marsh had walked out. I said that I was told at the end of the season he was unhappy. Very big difference. I made it quite clear that this did not mean he was leaving.

I thought that you said that he walked out .... that you knew someone in the club and they had told you that he had walked out....

The love for and legend of Goldsack was always greater than his output justified, IMO. Did he ever properly establish himself as Best-22 at any point in his Collingwood career? If he goes too, how many left from our 2010 Premiership team? Pendles, Brown, Blair,.....?

It's not Mayne the player that was the issue for a lot of us I think. More the term of contract and cap space. The only guy I can see getting delisted or retiring in the next few years is Goldsack and maybe Brown. Neither on big money. So it is going to put a squeeze on future trades and it basically rules us out of Rockliff/Motlop or anyone else of that calibre this trade period.

Include Cloke, Swan, Macaffer & Toovey freed up space would paint a slightly different picture + Brown RFA this year so he's in our top 25% of salaries.
Agree that Mayne contract size IF 4x500k is a concern but other reports suggest is lower or has triggers so I won't fret.

Terry Wallace rates Rockliff worth pick 23. Can't say I disagree with El Tano on this one. Massively overrated. Stat rat who works really hard.

Imagine if we paid $800k p.a. for him and then Fyfe becomes a FA next year but we've blown our load. For big money and/or high draft pick cost, let's get an elite talent that we need. Trade for need.

Scott Watters also suggested it'd be a poor list management decision. Not sure a slow inside mid is a need.

I'm not keen on giving a future second for WHE. I'd certainly be keen to see what sort of player we can turn him into, but if the deal was a 2017 second surely something else would be coming back our way.

One bit of speculation was WHE + Stewart but how about we wait and see what deal is done then try and see how on field goes in 2017.

I'd suggest you're being a little paranoid and one-eyed. He doesn't 'target' Collingwood - he, like every journo worth their salt, knows that Collingwood sells.

Just read and watch carefully and look out for key words.

You can't be wrong when all you've done is 'suggest' or report what you've heard.
