Wow - that Goldstein Tweet from Kirsty Hope (check out the drafts & trading board).
He could well be on the market

I don't either.

But I don't like giving up something away for pretty much free that could come back to bite.

Pick 50 is meaningless.

Ask for 36.

You realise we are talking about Stevens here no one is giving up pick 36 for Stevens, he has no upside has reached his ceiling and its there for all to see, he is a depth midfielder in any good side nothing more we can still use 50 with other picks to move up draft order, much better than losing him for nothing.

Adams... WTF?

Bulldog Marcus Adams eyes WA move, but no trade request

THE WESTERN Bulldogs are confident impressive first-year defender Marcus Adams will play out his contract despite exploring a possible move home to Western Australia.

Adams, 23, is contracted until next year and has recently held informal discussions with the Bulldogs about a return home.

However, the Bulldogs say Adams is happy to play out his contract and won't be going anywhere, denying reports he had sought a trade.

Adams' manager Jason Dover confirmed on Friday there had been no formal trade request.

"We've had some open conversations with the club over the last couple of months over where Marcus was at personally and suggested that if the right opportunity came up, we wouldn't be opposed to it ... (but) we expect he'll be there next year," he told AFL trade radio.

The mature-aged recruit played 11 games in his debut season but missed the premiers' second half of the year with a foot injury.

Fremantle would almost certainly be interested in securing his services if he sought a trade home, given their ongoing struggle to find key defensive stocks.

Koby Stevens polled 6 brownlow votes this year. Just for reference, here's a list of players who got a similar number (between 5 and 7):
  • Boak
  • M. Crouch
  • Dahl
  • B. Grundy
  • Montagna
  • Scully
  • Shiel
  • Ziebell
  • Ablett
  • Armitage
  • J. Gibson
  • Greene
  • Pigshooter
  • Hogan
  • J. Kelly
  • Motlop
  • Stevens
  • Tyson
  • Tex
  • Heeney
  • S. Johnson
  • LeCras
  • Lobb
  • T. Lynch (Adelaide)
  • Patton
  • S. Thompson (Adelaide)
  • Wallis
  • Watts
  • Young
  • Zorko
Is there anyone on that list who wouldn't fetch a second round pick at the least if they were 25 and their body wasn't cooked?

Now here's a list of players who were traded primarily for second round picks in 2015:
  • Melksham- seriously, wtf
  • Hampton
  • Bell
  • Seedsman
  • Howe
  • Rosa
  • T. Menzel
  • Yarran
For a bit of extra context, Jack Redden and Ryan Bastinac were traded for first round picks last year.

Honestly, I don't see how Koby isn't worth 36, let alone not even an upgrade from 40 to 36.

fair call mate, or even more than fair. I think still though, he should go for something like
Stevens and Pick 40 to saints
Pick 36 and a future 4th Round Pick to us

Adams' manager:
  • Have not requested a trade
  • Expected to be at the Dogs next year
  • If an opportunity arises to move back to WA, he is open to it

Been out all day.. this Adams news is a bit of a shock.

Good to read this though, hopefully it will stop the hysterics I've read these past few pages

I reckon we may get 36 for Koby. What will we get for Hrovat from Nth or Carlton? Thanks Nathan for looking after us, sad to see you go.
