I actually can't believe this, this is going to be an extremely hard sell for the club to supporters, what a ******* shambles
How so? The only talk was that Gibbs approached us and we'd see if we could accommodate. Next exactly promising the trade was a done deal.

Both sides should be happy, we obviously valued Gibbs at a higher value than Adelaide did. I'm glad that a player wasn't able to get out of their 5 year contract early, sure the club will work through things with Gibbs and his family.

Trade Radio suggesting that the AFL may give the Gibbs/Marchbank deals more time to be done.

Wouldn't surprise me. They just make up the rules on the fly to allow Geelong to trade out next year's first round, might as well turn around and extend the trade period for another week to get Gibbs done.

Please dont cave Reid and Co. We cannot overpay for Gibbs, we'll end up like the Smear paying for big names to come in with no chance of bringing through talent for years to come via the draft.

If it was a sensible trade yes, but not if it is overs. Gibbs other half will find it even harder and be demanding trade this time next year

Reporting coming out now the Gibbs deal didn't get done, Reid should be sacked if he was peddling over minor details

Let's not jump on the Victorian spin

Too from day one said we would not sell the farm to get him

Carlton obviously demanded more than what we were willing to pay

Let's wait for all the information before we pass judgement

So we didn't pay overs for Gibbs.

Carlton are stuck with a player that doesn't want to be there (and possibly going to be paid megabucks to play at the Northern Blues), we still keep our first round draft pick, which if used wisely could get us a gun player that could turn out to be better than Gibbs.

Previous administrations would've paid overs for Gibbs, so while disappointed we didn't land him, I commend the club for sticking to their guns.

There's simply no way we're going to give up 2 firsts for Gibbs.
Dunno wtf Sos was thinking but Carlton have ****ed up here, expect the AFLPA to get involved in this.

Are you relocating the club to Adelaide?

No problem wih Reid not parting with 2 first rounders.

Anyone that can do football who isn't associated with Carlton knows that is masive overs for a 28 y.o.

Disappointed we didn't have Rocky as a backup.

Disgusted we kept Thommo and traded Lyons for 43.

No sympathy for Gibbs, he could have come home as a FA, he chose to wallow in the mediocrity that is Carlton so he can now suffer in his jocks.
