WTF ONLY CONSIDERING? IS THIS A ******* JOKE?????

My god! I would thought the eagles would have been smart enough to guarantee sam mitch a hawks PAST CAPTAIN a position as leadership......

HOW IS SAM MITCH GOING TO BE BARKING ORDERS AND SCREAMING AT OUR PLAYERS? IF mitch isn't part of leadership group then I can see him be very freaking shy cos of new club and all. At least with leadership he will think that he is allowed to bark orders/expected to.....

THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T SEE A NON LEADERSHIP GROUP BARKING ORDER COS LEADERSHIP= ALLOWED TO BARK ORDER/ARE EXPECTED TO

Read the ****ing article, they haven't talked to him about it yet or even talked amongst themselves about his role.

But if there are wanky titles he deserves one. He's clearly going to be a very strong voice so he may as well have the title. I'd be extremely disappointed if he wasn't in the leadership group bouncing ideas.
Going by last year, wanky titles don't make a player a better leader.

Have Mitchell and/or Vardy had any official videos/interviews that the club have uploaded anywhere?

There's no videos of Vardy but there are a couple of interviews with Mitchell - go to the silly season news thread and you'll find links to those interviews there

IIRC our leaders are voted in each year. I'm sure the captain would generally be off limits unless he stood down, but I'd have faith in the players to vote him in. If it's not a vote each year, I'd expect the leaders to ask him to join. If thats not the case I fully expect the club to place him in the leadership group. If this all fails then **** me we are a piss weak club.

Super hot nympho part owner of a brewery

You'll have better luck finding an intelligent dockers supporter

I wouldn't underestimate the impact he'll have on the young kids at the club. He always took an interest in our young players, whether it was teaching them things on the training track, or going through their match revision to help them improve, or going to watch them at Box Hill. Now because he knows he's going to be an assistant coach at the Eagles he has a vested interest in the kids' development.

Just an example of what he's like

MARK Howard is a mad Hawthorn man so you can imagine his excitement when he got a text message from Sam Mitchell.

This happened during the off-season and the content of the message was what got the Channel 10 and Triple M commentator particularly pumped.

Mitchell was asking Howie if he wanted to catch up for a kick down at the park.

Even though he lives at Barwon Heads, Howard momentarily contemplated how he could accommodate one of his heroes.

“For a second I thought here is a four-time premiership player wanting to go for a kick down at Elsternwick Park with me,” he said.

An exchange of text messages followed with Mitchell revealing he’d sent the message to the wrong Howie — it was actually meant for his teammate Daniel Howe.

It's just one of so many reasons Sammy is an ornament of our club. He's got a young family, he's given so much to the footy club, he's not the captain anymore and doesn't need to be spending his down time playing kick to kick with a youngster when he's kicking a footy around every day at work. He has nothing to gain from it.

Adored by his own, hated but respected by everyone else. And I reckon that's how it should be.

There was an interview/video around the backend of the season (maybe after his contract extension :tonguewink:) and he spoke about how he always has one on ones with the coaches about where they think he needs to improve, after both good and bad games. His dedication to getting better and learning the game is 2nd to none. It seems his dedication to getting better and getting a leg up on opponents is what we've been missing.

Sam Mitchell and Coach doing a news conference tomorrow to officially welcome Sam to Perth (WCE).

Interesting that it wasn't a joke or setup and that its actually happening !!:straining:
Hopefully it involves wings

The thing is though the leadership group is voted in by both the football department and players so it will all depend upon how the voting system works out!
