The game won't be a mess they've been working on it since mid july 2015, at latest.

How would you know when we haven't seen any gameplay. They could have 5 years to make it but it doesn't necessarily mean it will be good without proper resources.

For what it's worth. WW feel as if they are almost finished creating the game.

They replied to me saying 'We have our toes and fingers crossed that we're almost there.'

It seems to me the theme seems to be releasing a player scan from every team once a week

I'm not sure exactly how many have Been done already but I'm Guessing that means we have a fair few teams still to go before that's complete and we get any sort of trailer or gameplay

So hopefully that can narrow down some sort of release time frame

The players won't even look like that in gameplay. You won't even see players faces during the game (given how far out the camera angles for gameplay usually are)
Don't quite understand the excitement over seeing players animated

We've been told time and time again we won't be getting anymore than the face scans for a while so I'd rather these than nothing (feels like ages since we've seen anything)

Granted the camera will be far away but you still want the players to look as realistic as possible and you can't deny that these are some of the most realistic looking players ever seen in a sports game

Back in the ps2 days everyone complained about how bad the players looked and now we have players that look near 100% accuracy and somehow people are criticising WW for it

The face scans are mostly only going to matter for cutscenes and potentially a third person camera in career mode. But considering that most people complained about player likeness I understand why WW put in the effort for realistic models.

I think the message is don't allow all your hype stem from some realistic images.
Gameplay > Aesthetics

The game HAS to no doubt play better than it looks! Thats whats worrying me the most!! All these screens do look great, but it seriously means nothing if it plays anything remotely like Live 2!

I'm saying that player models are close to irrelevant when you are in actual gameplay, so there is really no point getting excited about them at all

They are important for the Cut scenes such as goal celebrations, running onto the field through the banner, Interchanges, match celebrations etc. These things are relevant as they add to the game experience, just like when you watch channel 7's broadcast on tv, cut scenes will add to the game and good player likeness will add to the gamers experience.

If I want a replay of something that just happened, I will pause and select replay myself
Most people will skip the cutscenes when possible

Replays are such a minor part of the game, they could not include them and most people would forgive if the gameplay was solid
Also, if you are expecting player detail in replays to be like the models we have been shown you are going to be very disappointed.

In afl live 1 by big ant, lots of people complained that the game lacked cutscenes to show off the player likeness. So WW fixed this in AFL Live 2. You may not care about the cut scenes but lots of fans will.
