I think Griffen,Cooney and Higgins all leaving helped us win the flag. All our cards fell into place in so many ways.
Good footballers but not premiership material and selfish attitudes,a bit of a clean out really sparked the club and gave the chance for genuine team men to shine.

I dont believe anyone here was claiming that McCartney was going to win us a flag, lets not turn one discussion into something completely off track.

At the time with McCartney's mantra not residing well with the playing group, several players decided at that time their future would be better elsewhere. Higgins, Jones, Cooney, and some other bloke that also went to Carlton. Other players loyal to the club made a stand and approached management. McCartney had to go. McCartney's deficiencies were well known in that he was limited as a development coach.

Griffen chose well before that point to head elsewhere.

Why do we have to keep going over irrelevant sit.. Its water under the bridge now, we won another AFL AND VFL premiership 2 seasons later.

Yeah I'm sexist also it's utter garbage to watch in my opinion but as I've said before I wish them all the best. I struggle to watch sub par sport men's or womans.

I've also noticed the people jumping up and down about it at the start of the year are now very quiet on it the dogs team aren't winning.

There wasn't even a thread for the game in the weekend versus the pies.

I didn't know what to expect , and was a little shocked how bad it is.
I have no doubt it will improve over the longer term and I also wish them all well , but I can see the interest dropping off very quickly.

I've seen a fair bit of women's footy in my time and there is no disputing their effort and love for the game. It's simply something that I don't think is good to watch.

I'm very interested to find out where it's water level of interest is because it will not continue prime time on major channels it will not have the audience once the novelty wears off. In time i think it will end up on one of the major channels extra channels.

I also wonder how many people will go once an admission is charged? Personally I think it should remain free and the AFL carry the cost.

I wasn't referring to you when I said interest has dropped mate. I've always thought that once teams fall away the interest will plummet and even our own forum is backing that up.

Ps AWFUL injury to Sheahan. First game in the Comp after all the hard work and for that to happen is no good. Hope she gives it another crack.
