Probably trying to play a bit like Moore, because of his athletic ability just trying to take pack marks and speccies all the time.

But i agree just keep it simple sometimes, lead at the kicker because he looks like he would be relatively quick off the mark.

Also has a Big Leap so he can be hard to Spoil.

I have this feeling about McCarthy that he could turn into the best of the players we got from the 2016 draft pool. He is so raw that I don't expect him to play AFL this year. But he has pace to kill for and a leap that Nic Nat would be proud of. The problem is where to play him? I think he needs to be involved in the action so ruck should be his best position, but he doesn't look like a ruckman. Maybe in time he could develop into a tall forward, but who knows.

I could see him playing Similar to L.Brown and White play as KPF and 2nd Ruck

Reading a post like this one makes me very happy! There's so much negative sh** around here that this is really good to see. I hope you're right, by the way! He's obviously got some valuable attributes, we can afford to give him time to develop, let's hope it pays off in a big way.

Really agree that there is far too much emphasis on negatives as opposed to the positives.

I'd think you build on the positives and the team then gets bettter.
Focussing on the negatives eventually breaks people, I'd think.

100% in agreement and it makes me much less likely to post anything,the teams form and injuries over the last 3 seasons have been so depressing without people banging on about it.
I think 99% on here are pies fans and we all hate losing but it does my head in sometimes people harping on about it,surely the club are doing some things right and they are the things we should concentrate on.The club has made many mistakes in recent times and they deserve their wack over them but not constantly.

Yes as a club like all other clubs we make mistakes, sometimes dumb ones.
Though I am certain they do everything with intent of winning more etc.
I also think we do some things really well.

We are just 1 of 18 trying to get all the little pieces together to win the flag.
And that is a tough gig.

He already sounds better than Gault. Gault when drafted was supposedly athletic but never really showed it in any games, Its good to hear McCarthy is already showing it.

We need to be patient. I've watched enough cricket to know that guys called Mitch are extremely talented, have injury issues early on, but two thirds of the time they become dominant. I just hope we don't pick him too early and persist for too long before he's ready.

He kicked 3 goals in his first game. I can't ever remember Gault kicking that many in a VFL game, only preseason games where he was given free reign to cheat out the back by the opposition.
