28,000 at the MCG.

"Lol Poort".
don't you know that Crows supporters are unaware of the existence of 16 other teams?

same with financials, how much the AFL gives clubs, Port gets $3million more than the Crows, but meanwhile GWS get $10million more than everyone else...

Callum Ah Chee is starting to make his mark for Gold Coast
CALLUM Ah Chee enjoyed a breakthrough moment on Saturday night that had its roots in a stint in the NEAFL.
It wasn’t the career-best five-goal haul for the Suns forward in their 67-point loss to the unbeaten Crows at Metricon Stadium.
It was a mark he took in front of skipper Tom Lynch in the second quarter that a couple of weeks ago he may not have flown for.
Small forwards learn quickly that if they are to leap in front of a key forward they would want to make sure they take the mark.

I would prefer not to trade in players from GC for a while. That Dixon trade was a headf***.

Hawthorn fans might be starting to feel good about themselves again. After today's big win, they play St. Kilda, Melbourne, Collingwood, Brisbane and Sydney. So when they venture to Adelaide to play us in round 11, they may fancy their chances.....until we go into god mode as we did in 2015.

Tom Hawkins spoke about the Cats keeping in their defensive formation today as they were moving the ball forward. I find that interesting, because that's exactly what I've been talking about for the past two years - the move from shit position based defence which is reliant on tall players winning one on one battles, to holistic defence that is reliant on shape and formation.

You keep tooting the same horn and ignoring an important aspect of defending.

Even if you keep your shape absolutely perfectly and every man plays his defensive role perfectly, you still need to win contests to get the ball back.

Against GWS we regularly found 2 of our players having to fly against the likes of Lobb or Patton to stop them taking an easy mark. We'd defended well and we had players in position, but those talls were able to use their considerable size advantage to either take a mark or bring the ball to ground, where their smalls were waiting, knowing that they could stay down and wait for the spill because their tall player didn't have an opposition player who could take the contest away from him. We forced plenty of those contests but couldn't get enough of them to go our way.

Team defence played perfectly will force opposition players to dispose of the ball to our advantage, so that we can intercept at best or at least force a contest that we have an advantage in. It does not make the need to win contests obsolete.

Joel Selwood is an obscenely good footballer and the epitome of who you would want as an on-field leader.

Titus O'Reilly...

Thanks a lot Eagles. We had a really great thing going and you ruined it for everyone. #AFLHawksEagles

Yep. Taylor, Lonergan and Henderson are also 195, 196 and 197 cm respectively.

Who said that they were obsolete? I think they are overrated.

Looks to me as if the midfield getting on top is more important than anything else.

BRISBANE is looking to sell an early-season home game next year to avoid a clash with the Commonwealth Games.
The Lions fear any game, bar a blockbuster featuring a traditionally big-drawing club such as Collingwood, during the duration of the Games when there will be no public transport available, would be an economic write-off.

Selling a game could net the club $500,000.

Are they putting their hand up for China next year ..

Cyril Roli kicked 1 goal from 15 disposals yesterday. Being praised as the best ever from Melbourne journos. Overrated much?
The callers were saying it was the best 14 touch game ever, think they rattle that line off every time he plays a half decent game.

The guy got a Norm Smith for kicking 2 first quarter goals then basically doing nothing else. He's a fine player (and had a fine match that day) but massively overrated.

any idea who it is?

Trengove. We had a thread going based on some Facebook "report" that someone posted in our forum. The thread was taken down but maybe the news weren't made up as we first thought.
