Is it easy to pickup the rules? (and not just the rules - but the strategy so you have something to do)
The rules are easy, but the strategy can be complex. It's all in the drafting.

Introduced a few people from work to Ticket to Ride: Europe. Most really liked it.

It was my first time playing it with stations. Not sure why I thought they would be hard to incorporate into the gameplay.

I lost by 1 bloody point! Was overtaken when the longest continuous route points were added.

Quite easy to play, but to play well you will need to draft the right cards for the strategy you are going to pursue. Games will take around 2 hours. Lots or replay-ability, great game.

If you are playing 4 players, you have 34 cards per Age, and only 24 make it into the game after drafting. Over 3 Ages in each game, you have heaps of replay depth there. After each game I am always eager to have another right away.

Finally got a game of Adrenaline - it is pretty good fun. Blurry photo:

(Only 2nd :) )

Then we played a dice game about finding and collecting antiquities which I won but I don't remember what it was called.

Got out a rare one last night: Blood Rage!

Still my favorite game. I only won by 2 points at the end - scores at 63, 126, 147, 149.

I could have bumped it up by another 19 to 28 points but stuffed it up with no Quests in the third age.

Everyone was woke to my yo-yo Fire Dragons strategy so didn't get as many points there :(

Luckily I also had Lord of Spears, making any province pillaged with my leader a Yggdrasil-like bonus of all stats raised by one.

We used Gods and Mystics expansions. Mystics are good fun and not too powerful.

Haven't got the Gods expansion, but do use the Mystics. Is the Gods expansion worth getting?

After reading a few positive comments about Blood Rage I looked around and found it at ozgameshop. Picked it up for $92.99 with free postage (which was the cheapest I could see).

When I bought it they had it for $95 I think - but it soon became obvious they had run out of copies and this was actually an oversold pre-order. Took about 5 months to get it.

I've got that one and play it with my kids. But also looking for new games suitable for kids - hence my question.

One game we haven't been able to get into is hanabi. Too hard for my kids.
Tried Rampage/Terror in Meeple City?

Ticket to Ride My First Journey?

Played Catan with the expansion pack allowing for 6 players.

Made the rookie error of not having a wood source at the start of the game, lamest thing when no one trades with you.
