I see Richmond and Carlton are asking for taxpayers money to improve their grounds, using the AFLW as a big reason.
Was always going to happen, minimal investment for the AFL into the women's game, then claw it back through tax money.

Tranqui brazuca.

I can see Argentina from my window. We are civilization's first line of defense. GRR Martin has got it wrong. There is no wall, but a bridge protecting us from the Walkers:

Dante Alligieri has a famous quote about those twin towers. He called them "The Gates of Hell", and said that there was a sign saying "Leave all hope behind, thou who crosses it."

I hate Showdowns let alone a final with them. I've seen enough of their games this year to know that one team is umpired differently.

You don't hate Showdowns. You hate LOSING Showdowns, which is absolutely different! You actually LOVE Showdowns precisely because is so easy to hate them. There is always a chance that everything will go wrong...

Man, mornings of Grê-Nal in Porto Alegre, one wakes up feeling the tension in the air. It is so great! I believe Adelaide would be the same before Showdowns. There is nothing like a derby!

I hate them, the bullshit leading up, the bullshit after no matter who wins etc. it's painfully annoying.

I love derbies so much, that I (me, myself, and I — all three of me) initiate a movement which ended up with a national league derby being scheduled on the day the derby celebrated 100 years.

Almost nobody knows it, and I like my anonymity. Still, for me, it will always be MY DERBY, and it is the F*CK*NG 100th Anniversary Derby! Providence even made the game to be played at Grêmio, and Grêmio won.

I love all the nonsense, the bullshit, the ridiculousness, the exaggeration involving derbies. I love the banters, the anecdotes, the streaks, the records, the classic and defining moments of the derbies. All of them, but those involving my teams are the most special.

Showdown at MCG for the flag, and f*ck the rest! :-D

Correct...I hate the thought of Losing. Same as any derby in world sports..but winning them is sweet!

Not sure if you are aware or not but we've only played the Crows in a final once and it was an utter disaster. The memory of that night probably explains a bit of the trepidation around here.

But yes I agree, take the chance at losing to them in a big game for the chance of beating them in a big game!

I used to love them in soccer and rugby, but the Showdown is different. You have no idea how petty minded people here get, it isn't passionate or fun, it's not even violent or impressive. Just petty and spiteful, it's shite.

Long way to go that's for sure, and nothing is certain. However right now both teams are a high chance of finishing in the top 4, and if that happens you better get prepared because a showdown final would be extremely likely. Most top 4 sides end up playing one another at some stage during the finals.

The Squiggle has us between 1 and 5, with a very small chance of 6th, 7th or 8th.

You clearly don't leave in Adelaide (obviously!). Most people on both sides hate showdowns. Of course losing them is a lot worse than winning them but, what Chiwigi said.

Rural round in a national competition that doesn't have a single rural or even close to rural club.

Almost as daft as Robbo talking to the shepherd on 360, who gives a **** about sheep? It's a footy show.

I'd much rather play the Crows in the finals than GWS or Sydney or one of the 'fairy tale' Melbourne clubs (St Kilda, Melbourne or Richmond) that can expect a free ride from the umpires.

If we get another umpire-assisted fairytale Premier this year I will puke until I die.

Didn't a couple of Geelong players grow up near a dairy farm though?

I have my share of painful derby losses. It comes with the package.

I am aware of our loss. If I am not mistaken, we lost all three derbies that season. Brutal, I know.

Still, even knowing the risks, I didn't say "Showdown in A final". I have said in THE GRAND FINAL. Victorian kids will learn in school about "The South Australian Invasion", lead by Ken "Hannibal" Hinkley and its POWERful Navy from the PORT of Adelaide, which besieged Melbourne with BARRACKades for a week and more. Historians will tell that the smell of CROW barbies could be scent all the way in QUEENSLAND! Not happy in defeating the decadent Victorians, South Australians used the sacred grounds of Melbourne to settle an internal strife. A Bloddy CIVIL WAR of EPIC proportions were fought between the Crow-Eaters, living the Victorians astounished with such a demontration of Force, Determination, and Ruthlessness. Melbourne became "New Adelaide", and Port's conquest made them the Premiers of the AFL — Adelaide Football League.

Australia was never the same ever since!
