So Geelong and Adelaide sales were open at the same time by the looks of how things sold??

What's the point of having a home final again?

Is it always like that?

Yes, because we have set allocations, they weren't stealing seats from us and vice versa. Later today anything from the Geelong allocation not sold goes up for the general public, and unlucky Crows members, to access.

Point of having a home final is that we have it at our home ground and most of our supporters make it vs opposition supporters.

I don't have much problem with it.

We'll still get 80% of supporters there.

That's what I assumed, how the heck did all the Cat 1 + 2 sell within 10 minutes :\

Because it gets split 50/50, large portions of the western stand are reserved for AFL use, we have more members than fit into less than half the seats, and they let people buy 2 tickets per barcode.

Unused Geelong seats hit general sale at 2pm today, and the selfish chunk of AFL seats will trickle out on sale bit by bit for the rest of the week as AFL people knock them back and they are released.

I lucked out and got straight in today, but that's balanced out by nearly missing a seat last final, and having to sneak into a North Melbourne allocated bay in our home final the year before.

Rob Chapman mentioned he expected Adelaide to make approx $300K from the last final. Adelaide earn some money from finals through their stadium deal.

That's what I thought, and they said 300 thousand. Surely that couldn't be just through catering and merchandise.

Well then why was it reported we made around 300 thousand for the first final?

This is a negotiated payment from the SMA for hosting a final, as others have said all ticket sales go to the AFL.

So we have pocketed $600k for our two home finals, not a bad addition to our bottom line.

I managed to get 4x cat 2 at around 10:00am today. It took me around 45 mins of constantly cancelling shitty GA tickets and redoing best available.

I'm guessing its just people over and over plugging in catergories and their seats being reserved.

There will be some more released later no doubt when Geelong sell a quarter of their allocation.

Okay so that's fair enough.
But what would happen if we didn't sell it out?

Would Port have still made 300k for theirs considering they had around 10 thousand less?

If anyone on BigFooty knows the answer to how any of the deals are structured, it will be RussellEbertHandball

This happened to me for the qualifying final and it was fine. I'm still stressed about not getting the confirmation email for my grand final seats despite me calling them twice and both times being assured the order is there and the order being in my account!

Yeah I mean I have the tickets in my email, the card is charged and the order is in my order history, so if I rock up Friday and there is an issue look out!

Was a stressful experience getting these tickets, but managed in the end. A cool $160 (inc. bf) for Cat 2 in bay 127. Usually sit in bay 123, so I was happy to get close to my usual seats. Now we just have to win it, to help repair the scars left from 2006. :)

Feel sorry for the oldies who lined up for hours and hours and may either miss out on a ticket or get standing room on the hill, as it would take at least 5 minutes per customer at the ticket booth, at least! Don't understand why they wouldn't ask a young person that they know to jump on the interweb and get their tickets!

From my experience this morning the interweb system isn't much better!

Why don't they do tickets for Finals like the Grand Final allocation.

Each year when renewing your membership you tick a box to say you want to have a similar ticket for all home Finals and Ticketek automatically deduct your credit card and emails you a ticket.

It would cut out 90% of the traffic on the website in the Members purchase period.
