Only way I'd accept a deal for Cripps is 3 picks inside the top 2
imagine what sos could do with pick zero........

SEN reporting that the Giants left out Devon Smith from their last two games despite him being fit.

I'm not giving a top 20 pick for a chronically injured, medium-impact small forward, who "may" spend some midfield minutes. Would rather target a kid 6 years younger such as Lachie Fogarty.

If Devon's medical deems him corrigible and he nominates us along with Kennedy, I'm doing no more than #27 (On-traded from Adelaide, originally from Melbourne) and our '18 2nd and for the pair (And possibly a further salary dump).

I think SEN are wrong in this instance. Leon Cameron said at his press conference that Smith was still sore in the knee from the Geelong game.

I got the rumour from my mates brother re Cripps. He told the other bloke to GAGF (Not GAFF, but Go And Get F........). The word was that there may have been talks already, but they were rebuffed. Eagles aren't going away though apparently.

Id trade him for Vic Lads, no worries - Cripps for Shuey/Gaff/Duggan/Cole/Mutimer/Venables/Lamb/Nelson and Pick 13.
Throw in McGovern, Natanuie, Kennedy and next year's 1 St before we start talking.

It has LO.
Watched all his games this year with Peel.
Hands a lot cleaner in traffic, good foot skills, but its his over head marking he has taken to a new level.
Not the quickest leg speed player, but his quick decision making tends to get him out of trouble in close.
And still only 19 years old.
So room for plenty of improvement.
All this for a kid that didn't want to be at Freo, imagine what he will be like back home and at the Blues :)
Didn't realise he waa only 19! Plenty of scope for improvement then.

Absolutely zero to worry about with a contracted Cripps but what I worry about is Cripps and Curnow both coming out of contract and getting $1mil plus offers and us still sitting down the bottom end of the ladder. If we aren't playing finals then have to pay up and it would mean it pretty much puts us out of the running for players like Shiel, Kelly ect.

Hmm I find it hard to believe our third round pick is to late Kelly.

Drafting a 23 yr old (assuming 24 by next season) before the third round sounds a bit daft. People even thought we stretched at 19 for a 21, 22 yr old Boekhorst. (which we did tbf, but he was expected to be mid around the mid 20s)

I think our third round pick is about right, unless a desperate spends a second on him, at which point I'd be happy we didn't get him.

Cough up your first, 2018 first and Venables.

Oh and Hurn better stand aside too because Cripps isn't playing second fiddle to a 30yo half back flanker.

Yes reluctantly if one had to contemplate a trade of Cripps to Egales, both their 1st rounders for 2017&18 and a youngster with promise would do it.
Next year's draft is monstrously good , some combination similar would just about sway me.

I reckon he'll get through till late.

If required, SOS would find a way to get a higher pick to nab Kelly. Theyre not that hard to come by, and our list management isn't done by McKay anymore...
