We won this draft. WC did well too. None of our 5 picks have to put on much size if any at all. Our list is very strong now. Next year we should go for a big mid. Exciting times

I am so happy with Jack Higgins, best available at that pick. Smart decision by us. Will be a 200 game player

One of my best mates plays league footy for Sturt and he said Coleman Jones is going to be a very good player.

Must hurt that we won the flag when he has us losing the draft every year whereas the pies can't even make finals despite getting 5 top 10 talents the last half dozen drafts.

True, but he does tend to have only good things to say about every kid.

I guess that’s just his way of giving the kid a pump up as he is more there to promote them and always has been, so focus is on the positives.
Certainly knows his stuff though and to be fair hardly any media commentary focus on the negative in regards to drafting because it’s such an unknown in most cases so would make it very unfair on a kid.

It sounds like an apprentice construction worker from the western suburbs who finds pleasure in running through cement walls.

I hope he does that on the footy field.

This is the first draft I don't give a shit. Normally this is the time I dream of massive improvements and hopefully some Sept glory, now I'm just happy to be living and basking in the past and will just look forward to what these 5 will bring to the table.
Think it's time to watch a replay of the granny again

Higgins. Probably the position we least needed, but had slid so far you just couldn't say no.
CCJ. Big strong ruckman who can go forward.
Balta. Big roll of the dice, huge X factor and potential...could be a superstar, could be nothing...but we could afford to gamble, especially with Naish sliding enough to gift us this pick.
Naish. We were always going to take him, and having him go this late is a huge bonus.
Miller. I know he went late enough that he must have some notable limitations, but really could be the guy we wanted all draft. That big KPF who can play ruck.

Great draft from the Tigers imo. Higgins for #17 and not having to match Naish until our 4th pick was a superb outcome. We've also addressed the key forward role if Jack gets injured. Soldo in the ruck and Nank fwd didn't cut it for me.

I'd have to defer to the experts but CCJ is the best contested mark in the draft apparently and will develop into a genuine ruck too.

Balta can play both ends of the ground and looks close to ready made for when Astbury or Grimes break down.

Similar size to Lambo who came 3rd n the b&f playing a fair bit in the middle. I reckon we willbe looking to develop a few of these small forwards so they can run through the middle.
