Today’s performance was a disgrace and for a manager to set up to play like that in a home leg was incredibly stupid. The money he has spent should be translating to results
And they say Italian football is boring.

Too much is read into results in knockout ties imo.

Shit result for United but shit happens.

Think #lolmou and United are a bad fit, but today's result doesn't change that at all. If he was good enough for them this morning he's good enough for them now.

I think 2 EPL clubs in LFC and citeh in the last 8 is defn an accurate reflection of the quality of EPL this season

It's typical Mou though. The club and supporters knew this is what they would be getting when they appointed him.

Go to a club with a board that will give him 100's of millions.

Let him spend it on attacking players

Then turn them into defenders so he can park the bus every game

Then when he loses he blames the refs or club for not giving him enough money

Rinse and repeat

Very soft group to be fair though and several games we were poor but got results

Sure, we'll only focus on the negatives because that helps your argument better.

Nothing in that group comes close to Sevilla IMO, who have played through long European campaigns in recent years and know how to get through a knockout tie.

Agree, so we actually lost to a decent side, the point is our form coming into the round was good in Europe. United, in recent years have not performed against Spanish sides, something like 6 goals scored in 25 games. Their are no guarantees in football, this is proof of it.

He’s been horrid - 1 goal in 10 games is it? And it came from a penalty rebound. What a waste of a signing.
Be fair now. He’s gone from a club that can attack but not defend to one where everyone’s a defender in his pragmatic approach. Can’t say Mou’s style is conducive to him playing well. Should have gone to City.

Outside of playing Fellani next to Matic what was wrong with the set up? Lingard, Rashford, Lukaku and Sanchez. How more attacking do you want the team to be? Martial and Pogba back in from injuries.

Purely to stop Pep and City getting him. Pretty noble thing of mou to do allowing the rest of us to stay within 25 points of city!

He also hasn't be horrid at all, that is a comment from someone who hasn't watched any United games. Has actually be one of the few players who attack, the only thing going wrong is the chemistry with other players. Which is improving.

Tactics doesn't just mean the players picked. It's the instructions he gives to the players that's the problem. On paper that's more than enough attacking quality

This is a great post, one of the best I've read this year.

I didn't realise we were all privy to those instructions. I'd say the fact we had more possession probably indicated we weren't instructed to play defensive.

Well it's either instructional or the players are shit to allow the away side to have 18 shots to 12 despite having nearly 60% possession
