In hindsight it has achieved nothing, put it down as a mistake, all recruiters make them. Not sure how you can say taking a DFA is butchering the list?

Betts, Jacobs, Garlett, Touhy, Casboult, Robinson, Bell all developed by carlton with late picks all currently getting a game as best 22 members of the clubs they are at

He kicked 2 goals (not great) but his direct completion in the side is Lamb who has been shocking. It could have been a statement to Lamb rather than rewarding Jack.

Happened with Hird. Happened with Voss. Arguably happening with bucks. On a lower lever it’s happening with Grant at my club.

It's laughable. One of the best soccer managers in the world (Jose Mourinho) never played at the highest level. Likewise with Brad Stevens in the NBA.

You just need to be able to understand footy. If you've done the right apprenticeship you will have learned how to coach players on their skills, footy smarts etc.

Spot on. Exactly what I’ve been trying to say, but kept being reminded that the blues tried to get Kelly and that was sufficient.

Nobody has said it was sufficient. We tried to get multiple players last off-season and if my memory is correct the year before too. We missed out because we don't have a great sales pitch to offer a free agent right now.

It hurts us, but there's nothing we can do about it. The only way to attract worthwhile players is by moving up the ladder.

- Fisher has taken his own game to the next level this season, contributing more around play.
- J.Silvagni has won a couple of games off his own boot over the past two years. This 'game because of name' bullshit is just attention-seeking brain-dead morons with no idea (or blinded by hatred like you are) trying to obtain cheap plaudits.
- McKay has only played two matches, and IIRC he performed to a satisfactory level in both.
- ASOS was brought in for experience. Was alright when he was out there. Dealt with Buddy to help us snatch the 4 points off swans last year. Right now his recovering from a hammy. Talk about kicking a player whilst they are down.
- Plowman has already proven he is a serviceable club player.
- Weitering is suffering a severe form slump. If most clubs had pick 1 that year, they most certainly would've done the same and drafted him.

Well I actually watch Carlton games, so I'd say I have a pretty good idea who has shown potential before. All the players mentioned have had good games, and are just trying to develop consistency. All of them besides ASOS are still young, so what do you have to show that they're "duds"? Them not being consistent? Not many players in that age bracket are. All of the players mentioned have shown they are capable of playing at an AFL level.
