I could almost guarantee she wouldn't. As an employee, she would be indemnified by Ch7.

The only way she would be getting independent advice would be if Ch7 decided to discipline her. That's not going to happen as they had the editorial control.

Depending if she has been truthful all along to her employer rather than twisting the truth for her own agenda.

In fact, she's probably earned bonuses.

We need to use the march to the mall politically. Get the 9 and 10 and ABC cameras there. Get the placards out. Tell the world what 7 is doing and has been doing for years. Give examples.

Mate, her General manager LOVES the Crows. He will protect her to the nth degree, even if he has to twist the truth. After all that stain of a station has had plenty of practice at twisting the truth.

I'd love Koch to go and meet with Stuart Littlemore QC - one of the country's best defamation QC's and a legitimate pompous prick at the bar - and come out and say we are investigating the possibility of taking 7 News Adelaide and Elspeth Hussey to court for defamation. Get Littlemore involved and it gets national exposure, Stokes probably gets involved wondering WTF is one of my main stars suing one of my divisions and all hell breaks lose and Elspeth shits herself and goes and wastes a shit load of time and money talking to an expensive QC. Put some heat back on her.
Media Watch hasn't been the same since Littlemore left.

Didn’t he represent Nicole Cornes when Mick Molloy cracked a joke about her f**king Stewie Dew?

Yes he did and got her $85k damages + legal costs paid.

She would go and talk to a legal expert. She isn't going to say I will leave it all in 7's hands and have no worries at all about it. If Stokes' people say we lose this and you can look for a job elsewhere she is going to go and seek out some advise. Its all speculation, but the bottom line is it would put the wind up her.

She would 100% leave it in Ch7's hands, at least at first. If it looks to be going pear-shaped and seven started threatening her employment, then she would get employment advice.

The one thing issuing proceedings would do is take time out of her day in taking statements and other preparation.

Also, I can think of a few defo barristers much better than Littlemore.

But would they attract as much national publicity as Littlemore?? Part of using Littlemore is that it makes 7 and Stokes look potentially bad in Sydney as well as Melbourne and Adelaide.

Everybody knows what 7 are doing just like everyone knows how the AFL operate.

It's no secret.

The most disturbing thing about this whole mess is just how silent everyone is about this apart from Port supporters. We have a young indigenous guy from the hard school of life trying to forge a career for himself in the nations premier sport. A young man who has tried desperately to make himself a better person and in doing so a role model for his people, especially other indigenous males who have had a similar upbringing to Sam yet it's so quiet. And as of today, after 2+ weeks it appears to be that his only crime was to be a dick who got way too drunk.

He's messed up, no question, but to think they want him to admit guilt over an alleged sexual incident, sign an apology agreeing to their facts when he's completely disputing them and video evidence seems to back his side of events. Attend an Awareness course over women's rights or similar, take a monetary hit and and not play footy for 4+ weeks is astounding - given the actual evidence, and then have to live knowing his name will be tarnished for ever over something he didn't do!

Yet we have silence from every part of the media, the AFLPA, fellow players, coaches etc. The only reporting seems to be over the back and forth nature of the penalty, nowhere have I heard about Sam's rights.

I have seem huge protest marches for less. Where are all the human rights activists when you need them?

He got drunk and some female took offense to his behavior. Never nice but the sanctions do not match the crime, unless there's more.

Something is really rotten here, unless of course, the AFL have more than we are aware.

That's the corrupt power of the AFL right there.

Silence.

We should be naming him against north if the AFL have a problem with that we should be saying prove he did anything wrong beyond braking team rules, if they cant he plays or we’ll see you at the greviences tribunal...

Can’t suspend him “just because”

That's cute that you think that. They can. They will. They have.

This sentence is under "Process" of the AFL respect and responsibility guidelines. A lot of it is very vague, such as where it says the investigation should be carried out in a timely manner, it says "where practicable" which can cover a multitude of sins.

Š The AFL Head of Integrity can take action at its own initiative where it believes there has been conduct that breaches the terms of the R and R policy and where there is an absence of a complaint.

Been posted before but it's worth bringing it up again. And most things to do with the AFL help me bring up something anyway.
Sorry about the bad joke but I'm an uncle and that is what uncles do.

Start playing the race card. Call out afl for picking on indigenous players and giving them harsher penalties and watch them back off at a million miles an hour.
And if that doesn't work then go the mental health issues card. That seems to be the flavour of the month catch all excuse to use these days.

Woman admits to doing biting. Court disagrees with her admission because thats not enough.

Lol, what even.

Without knowing the facts of that particular case I’m 99% sure there’s some very crucial detail deliberately left out of that clickbait headline designed to provoke the exact reaction that you just had. Honestly we’re posting in an 109 page thread about C7’s dodgy reporting, do you people not learn anything?

I assumed he was talking about a sporting penalty.

I’m wondering if 1) the AFL continue to try force him/the club to sign documents that claim something happened when it didn’t(police aren’t even involved), and or 2) they(AFL) suspend him when he hasn’t done anything wrong justify that. And all this is happening, because of a media report by someone with vested interests in attacking and hurting the club.
Would they have a case?
Would they be able to take it to an Aussie court?
Surely the AFL is duty bound to protect its players(employees), and put their well being and mental well being at the forefront, rather then engaging in a witch hunt against their employees?

Where’s the AFL Players Association to step in and say enough? Have they even said anything on the matter? Genuine questions as I may have missed the AFLPA getting involved given the shit one sided media coverage we get, and that this incident and the club in general have been getting lately.

Ignore the fact it's a 7 article...
My attachment stated the woman was found not guilty of assault due to insufficient evidence.
My point being why is SPP not afforded the same justice?

You are mixing up laws of the land with laws of a competition.

If the AFL breaks laws of the land ie denies natural justice it ends up in court system. If its about a breach of its rules and the Port and SPP think they are wrong, they keep it within the sports system, grievance tribunal and then CAS.

AFL does not employ players. Clubs are the employers, Clubs issue the contracts and pay the players and withhold taxes issue PAYG payment statements etc. The AFL just provides a market place for them to trade/apply their skills.
