Might need to put him on a proper contract if he keeps this up.

I reckon a two year deal on the senior list ( with performance clause to trigger 3rd year) is about right . Word from the club is that he is in fine physical form and can play for a few more years yet.

His little stint in the ruck in the second quarter was lovely to watch too. Really palming down the ball with aplomb.

The guy is talented and anyone who says otherwise is deluded. It’s the ability to produce that consistently which is elusive.

When he's playing well he has a real confidence and arrogance to his play. Knows he can mark the ball and can slot the goal with no issues, you can just see it in his body language. Talent was never a problem, but his consistency is. In saying that I've always been a fan of his, and hope he gets an extended run even if his form drops off.

Just the one blocking free kick given away in the ruck as well from memory (might have been stiff as well didn"t see a replay of it).

Definetly has the tallent. Most players in the comp don't ever get a hold of a game of football like he did in the first half. If his ruckwork remains tidy then he potentially becomes more than useful backup.

A couple more games like this and a few clubs would start sniffing around as well surely?

Shit post. Just admit you got it wrong.

He's been on AFL lists for ny on 10 years and has never played more than 10 games (bar his second year with 16) in a single year. eth-dog has every right to be pessimistic but this re discovery of himself as an AFL player is certainly fun to watch.

Its rare but sometimes players don't find the level of consistency to be quality AFL players until quite late in their careers. Majak Daw is doing it for North right now and who knows maybe McKernan has found 'it'.

Worsfold did mention in the presser that McKernan has perhaps had his best preseason ever and no doubt that's really helped him.

Two good games in a row after 9 years of delivering mostly crap? I won't because I'm not. If he produces this consistently I might, but until then I'll maintain that I'm right.

Happy he is making it. He plays with the endeavour we need in the team.
Will be some hard questions asked of the selectors when Daniher is fit, but as it stands, i wouldn't want to see him dropped.

100% agree, Daniher hasnt had four quarter acoss the season as good as McKernans effort yesterday. I hope Daniher was taking notes.

I think McKernan doing well will do wonders for Daniher TBH, because being a walk up start every week is bound to have a complacency effect on any player eventually.

Not saying Daniher has been lazy as he's been injured, but i think knowing that geez theres another forward who is basically fulfilling my role brilliantly, making my absence less significant might stir some hunger in him. Just little things like putting in that extra 1% effort to chase down a player or make an extra running option etc

Mate, you were adamant he would not do a thing. You abused others for suggesting giving him a shot. Just pull your ego in and admit he might actually be better than you think.

Why would a bloke with oestitis pubis be taking notes? You know what that is right?

You lose all thrust through your core. It literally limits your ability to move, jump, bend or generate any power at all through your legs. The fact he got as many games out as he did is amazing.

Reminded me a bit of one Simon Madden. He also did some clearance work that was very good also.
