The Bulldog throw, the third man up rule (as they had no ruckman), giving the week off before the finals (they had at least 6 that would of missed the first game) and probably the best dream run with the umpires you will ever see.

The AFL, the Umpires, the Media and the Fans. They all wanted the fairy tale bulldog premiership win, so the AFL had a big part in making that happen.

For me it is a very tainted premiership win.

My club got burnt two years in a row by fairytale premierships

We would of finnished top 2 that year if not for Troy pannells 17 free kicks to the bulldogs

The Crows would have finished Top 2 in 2016 if they didn’t shit the bed against a Nic Nat-less West Coast at home in Round 23.

PS aren’t you an alias account lol?

If Port was in Sydney’s place that day I’m pretty sure some of us would be in prison right now.

Should have rioted regardless.

The nonchalance shown at the time, including by many on here (I remember the port board grand final thread) was disgusting. The football public as a whole allowed it to happen. It was a select few neutrals and the Sydney fans that were truly unhappy about it. Only now have most realised what it was.

Too little, too late.

Richmond one isn't a fairytale premiership, they were very clearly the better team on that day.

and they're a good chance of going back to back.
The only team that has a chance of beating/stopping them IMO would be West Coast, especially if they get a home prelim against them.

I received alot of bullying on my own board for calling it as it is

Strangely posters who said we were to conservetive got upset when I pointed out we are now running the gauntlet giving up to first rounders for gibbs.

Our drafting history is quite good. We've had few first rounders we could of done alot with them.

Instead of intellectual discussions. The bigger egos call me a port troll.

Yet I know more about my clubs history than most. Including the tulmultous formation years

Some of the egos bullying actually have well paid jobs families and evidently of good character

We got lucky in 98. Shouldn't of made the granny. Dodgy finals system. But we did beat the hardest side of the 9os in the granny. Ruined thier era

they would of won 3 out of 4 and be lauded in the history books.

97 was ours but. 4 finals in a row with major injuries

For those not in "the know" here's a rundown on wharfie_1870, avatar.

The shot is taken from one of my favourite old style adventure films The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
Lead actor Humphrey Bogart said it was a favourite role of his. Directed by John Huston it's also the debut of his father
who delivers an award winning performance that includes 2 of the great monologues in Hollywood history.

Another great rollicking adventure film from a thousand yrs ago is this beauty

I'm kind of the opposite actually. Was sickened by the umpiring on the day, thought it was one of the biggest disgraces the game has ever seen.

But since then, I've warmed to the idea of the Bulldogs premiership, umpiring to one side. It's just so impossibly absurd and so miraculous that it actually stands as a beacon of hope to any mediocre team that you can get on a roll for a few weeks or months and do something amazing.

And the Bulldogs will probably never win another premiership in any of our lifetimes. That was their moment in the sun. The Swannies on the other hand will continue to occupy a seemingly permanent place in the top 4 and will get plenty more chances to win flags.

"Port fans have the lowest life expendancy of all marginlised groups in south Australia
The second highest occourence of inbreeding behind Victorians"

Wtf at this umpiring!!!!!

**** this umpires.

HOW WAS THAT NOT A FREE TO RAMPE

If Sydney get out of this it'll be a win for the ages 22 dogs 3 green fairies & the injury god to defeat.

Yeah now Swans officially being r*ped by the men in green.

I don't even want to continue watching this, and I sat through the year that shall not be named.

its going to take a minor miracle for the swans to get over 25 players the dogs have

Twice now that low sliding shit has gone missed and it looks serious this time

FFS Swans leave the ground in protest

The Swans last free kick was in the first 5 mins of the second quarter.

1 free kick for a half of football.

I have no love for the Swans but f@#k me they are getting probed by the little green men here big time.
