He loved the sound of his own voice did Derm.

Often ignoring what was taking place on the field to wax lyrical for five excruciating minutes about a technical point no one else gave a feck about.

But I'd still have him over Brayshaw as a commentator of games I care about any day of the week.
Lol the amount of time he spent explaining the most simple things in complicated ways, but even worse, explained them.... super..... slowly....

That's great for you, doesn't help me much.

And all of that worked fine for me and I secured good seats. It's the continual getting logged out by Ticketek and doing 2 stage verification that's a pain in the ****.

I thought that was Dani Laidley and the article was going in another direction.
Speaking of it. Was in the pub the other day and they were playing the 1994 North v Geelong Prelim. What struck me was just how much better the spectacle/game was than the shit we have to endure these days and secondly Dean Laidly was playing, the Junk Yard Dog, an ugly man by anybodies standards, you never would have guessed at the time the freak show he would become.

This stadium should be huge for Hobart. The city needs an identity, this will give that, and it will significantly boost tourism. I just hope the team itself gets fully embraced by the people of Tassie and becomes a success. Even if those people support other teams, you hope they get on board with their historic own club.

Yep I'll head down there for a Port game
Love Hobart

Probably the best location for Gather Round tbh (although accommodation is probably an issue .....
Plus getting there from the mainland, facilities for AFL games with large crowds, getting around in general and traveling to and from venues. The list goes on.

Tassie is a beautiful place but i'm still not convinced we need another AFL team or that this will work. I still think one of the Vic teams should've permanently moved there like South Melbourne moving to Sydney. To me 18 teams is already too many and there has always been far too many in Melbourne.

It'll just turn into the 3rd development pathway for victorian clubs to pillage every year

Tassie deserves more than some Melbourne dreg.

Hey RussellEbertHandball - does your mate now lay claim to be the Devils's #1 ticket holder..?

Nope. Just the opportunity to interview people around the topic, make TV shows about it and write articles. He also will get a few freebies from the Devils and AFL out of it.

Was that Jarrod Walsh doing the pre-game at the GABBA? Jeezus can CA keep him
Yep noticed him last year and at the Perth test. Apparently he has had the gig with Cricket Oz for a few years now.

Shows how much I take notice of the pre-game stuff, regardless of my thoughts on his work with us & SEN-SA he's doing alright for himself.

Jarrod Walsh is the voice of LIVE Sport in Australia. Nationally, he is the Match Day MC for the Australian Socceroos, Cricket Australia and the Australian Boomers. In South Australia, Jarrod represents: Port Adelaide (AFL)

Just sorted tickets for 8 of the 9 gather round games, hoping to find tickets to Geelong v West Coast at some point to keep my perfect streak of gather round attendance going. Each year except last year I had difficulties getting tickets to one of the games so fingers crossed I can clutch up closer to the date. Very very excited!

Mass immigration is the answer.
