I wouldn't worry about that - linking to Go looks entirely optional. At it's core this seems to be a yellow reboot and looks fantastic

looks great but bit weird if there's no fighting wild pokes anymore. first gen in HD is about what i expected, having 2 player integration is a great bonus!

Not sure what to think. Without reading through all of the info yet, it seems we're getting spin offs first (which traditionally have been poor in the past) and then we get a main series RPG in 12-18 months from now. I want the main series switch game yesterday!

I'll keep my expectations extremely low for these first games.

I'm a bit confused...I didn't really play much Pokemon Go.
So can you still level up through training against wild Pokemon?
Do you just chuck a ball at it to capture it instead of the normal get it weak/status move and then throw a ball at it?

I bet I'll still get it but some parts concern me.

That'd be alright.

A part of me doesn't mind actually seeing them and then deciding who to battle based on who I'm leveling up plus the extra experience a particular Pokemon may give over another one. Nice as well instead of waiting ages to encounter a 5% rate one, just seeing it and approaching it.
Some of the mystery gets taken away but I guess it could be more casual and appealing to the newer fans.
