Autopsy Blues down by 57 points after woeful first half

As you say Andy it is an opinion, yet people that disagree with the negative sentiment, are labeled as having blue coloured glasses.

IMO, people can post whatever they like, but surely all of us can rebut an opinion

Interesting though, some only show up after a heavy loss, yet not many celebrate the positives.

It is an interesting of lack of balance
Exactly
Constructive discussion !

Maybe some people want to improve their supporter skills and become real supporters.

Should I start by clapping for them after a shit performance?

If it was your own child out there would you? Would you get onto a forum and lay the boots into your own child after yesterday?

The way i see it is this is a forum for supporters to voice their opinions on the Carlton footy club and what they (posters) are thinking.

The club is not immune from criticism as some seem to think. As for this idea that any criticism has to be constructive (i have even seen a poster say you can only say some thing negative as long as you say something positive) i am not sure that is a rule at all. Posters have the right to express an opinion that may be negative but do not have provide the remedy.

As for the attacking other posters it seems to be that the club apologists and self-appointed protectors of everything the club does are the ones that are leading the attack on anyone who has the temerity to disagree with the 'club is doing everything fantastically/wins and losses dont matter/ in 3-5 years will be a power ' line.
My pet hate is posters who cry censorship whenever someone attacks their argument.

This board is a hard place at the moment. Posters need to try to see both sides even more now than they otherwise would, because without it we'll just spend time on here just rehashing arguments.

As for the bolded, I object to being labelled as either of those things, and I REALLY object to mass generalisations of any posters into opposing camps. You are not an O'Shea/Weitering hater, you may have completely different reasons for disliking a player's selection that can be as fact based or as absurd as you like; that your opinion is shared by others does not compose you into some form of collective gelatinous mass.

Argue the point opposed; don't try to make claims to being oppressed. Don't get defensive if others disagree, and don't expect people to pat you on the back for not sharing your opinion.

Samo has been slightly better than Fisher......anyone can see he is being patient and slowly building
Samo tracking well so is Fisher
Dow has been ok as first year....
Obrein has struugled at time is undersized with good run...seems to be trained endurance wise already[could be a good asset off hb or a wing down the track

the rest need to try and improve......Cunningham has had a lot of time already to make it...plus has injury issues
I thought Samo was ok in patches yesterday... however he has no hurt factor, maybe that will come as he develops

All well and good, you create your own criteria on Marchbank as a 3rd year player if that suits you

Weitering's output in his first 2 years was better than any KPD, in the game over the last 10 years, that is fact.

So he has a down year due to carrying injuries and you moan that we took him with pick 1, yet you can't offer up a name, of who you would have taken before that draft.

His stats were padded genius.

Weiters was getting games by default and in his first 2 seasons we played extremely defensive style with a lot of switching and passing to the defenders. Not to mention the fact that he's had a lot of tall timber support around him so he could play loose and not really have to beat an opponent 1v1.

BTW, I didn't moan that we took him with #1. You clearly skip past the fact that he hasn't applied himself the right way. Like I said talent is there, but doesn't have what it takes between the ears.

I think you’ll find that a constant negative agenda isn’t acceptable and trolling within BF rules

Some of the whining & gloating after a loss seems to be more frequent

Not sure what your on about the apologist self appointed protectors ... maybe you’re reading a different forum to me

That's because they are flogs of the highest order. Get a win or even a good performance and nothing. Get a loss and they post approx 100 negative posts in 24 hours. These people have zero life.

SPOT ON.

I'd say your entire post here is premature.

He's been on an AFL list for 3 seasons, and has demonstrated that at the very least he'll be an AFL quality key defender, if not better, and it's very rare that players are at their absolute best in their very first season and don't make inroads as they get deeper into their career, let alone the likelihood of a KPP playing their best footy at 18 rather than 24.

Time will tell. Of course, if I'm wrong about him, then that is a positive for the club.

Because it's irrelevant. If you could explain how it is relevant then I'll answer, but I'm not going to think about answering bullshit questions that have nothing to do with what we're talking about.
Far out why are you so angry all of the time

You keep creating your own agenda to suit your own narrative. Still you fail to name one player

You squeal about being attacked on this board and you continue with the snide remarks, but happy to entertain you from here on in

Fire away

Oh really? I thought the players did that!

Who cares what the media want for a narrative anyway? Tune out if you don’t want to hear it.
I feel I'm part of the Carlton family. I would never verbally bash my brother or sister. Opposition supporters feed on Carlton tears. I prefer to keep their bellies empty.

This is whats ****ing ridiculous, we are 1 and ****ing 11.

Hard to show up and be positive after a win when the team isn't winning to begin with...

So many logical fallacies used to dismiss dissenting views.

I dont need to. Its as clear as day. You just don't have the brain capacity.

And the reason many people still clapped as the team walked off is because to them, the club, the players are family. They will support no matter what, hence the word supporter. Unfortunately there are flakey AF supporters out there also...

The only thing I'd like to see is us moving away from this possession style slow movement of the footy. It's killing us. not the best way to play anymore, especially when our skills are a bit down for whatever reason
Unfortunately they can’t play a faster more attractive brand of footy until their disposal improves.

Unless of course the supporters and the
club are all prepared to cop a whole season of heavy losses. This week would suggest not.

That's right you were at a birthday for our last win

Play on

I'm not. It's a part of life that negative things always tend to stand out more than the positive.

Most of the time during match threads I post positive stuff, when I see a kid do something to get excited about, when the team has good passages of play etc.

But I'm not going to be positive when we get our arses kicked by a team with more or less equivalent experience as us and I'm certainly not going to jump on some bandwagon of 'courageous' supporters who want to clap for a dismal effort.

Did you hear the boos at half time? I guess the majority of that 20k that showed up weren't real supporters, right?

If so, name them.

Generalisations again. I'm not having a go at you specifically, but you're pointing out something without actually pointing it out.

I literally pointed one out right then... 'people only showing up after a loss' is a shocking thing to put forward when we are 1 and 11.
