Brodie
Scrimshaw
Lloyd
Jetta

Seriously, If SOS gets 3-4 of them and keeps our draft picks I will be very happy. :)

Im keen for Cerra. I think kids (top 10 draft picks) come on pretty quickly these days if they are mids.

If Adelaide do finish poorly and end up with pick 7 and get pick 8 as compo for sloane, we should ask for both picks. No picks going back. If they want it, pay up.

Freo currently only have 2 picks in this coming draft. Sitting at 6 and 78. If Murphy did in fact leave and we got say pick 20 for him, id package 23wb and 26adel and our next years 3rd up and offer that for Cerra. Low balling them? Maybe... but you have to take a minimum 3 picks in each draft. And if Cerra did want out and choose us, 2 picks in the 20-30 range in a strong draft could be a good get for them. I would then send pick 20 to Sydney for Lloyd.

If we could walk away with Cerra, Lloyd, Collier-Dawkins and Rozee i would be stoked.

It may not solve all our issues in this off season but geez it makes our future extremely exciting.

I believe we will trade our future first round pick this year.

Think next year will be the year we trade our future pick. We will back ourselves to move up the ladder. Too much chance we end up with a top 4 pick next year still. Think Josh Kelly will be on our list of people of interest come the end of next year so our 2019 1st will be required

I think we have 4 needs to look at in the trade period. I really hope we don’t trade our first pick unless it’s for something amazing. I have also left Gaff off of my list because I don’t think he’ll leave West Coast to come to Carlton but he should be our number 1 target.

Our number one need is an inside midfielder. Angus Brayshaw would be my first choice like Gaff I can’t see him leaving but Tyson I think is get able and at 25 he is ready to go and he’s best football is a head of him. Wallis as a out of favour free agent has to be looked at. Miles has been out of favour at the tigers for two season now and is way to good to be in the VFL. Brodie was a first round pick that’s barely played a game, looked AFL ready when drafted but like most Suns doesn’t look fit enough. Barlow at 30 still looks like he has a year or two left but maybe to old.

Our number two need is a defensive small forward. Neade would be a great pick up. Lovell is a young unproven but could also midfield forward. I would also love to see Garlett in navy blue again. Sam Lloyd is one of the tiger forwards which is get able but I’ll like to get any tiger forward. Fasolo isn’t a defensive forward but is a goal kicker and a free agent.

Our number three need is running defender or winger. Hunt would be my first choice he’s speed and kicking would add lot of run missing since Tuohy left. Thurlow would be a good get and is highly skilled. Scrimshaw my be too tall for our backline but is a high skilled left footer. Newman or Lloyd should also be looked at.

We also need a young ruckman. O’Brien is a little sauce and at 22 should be ready to set up. Pittonet is a good young ruck that has good tap work and works well around the ground. We could just wait.

Generally like/agree with what you post but this is some next level fantasy stuff.

Firstly Cerra is contracted like all draftees from last year, until the end of 2019, secondly, he is a gun, if the draft was re done tomorrow he would go 1 or 2, there is nothing to suggest that any mid in this draft will be as good as him.

Thirdly, the draft keeps going until clubs no longer want to make any selections, Fremantle can have as many pics in the draft as they want, if all clubs pass after 78 then they have 79.

Also 20 for Lloyd is a steal but not too far off imo, hopefully we ask the question.

Or we trade it this year because the Giants will match any FA offer for Shiel and demand it next year.

Agree about Cerra and i know all the facts. I actually don't think Cerra would go top 5 this year but that could be just me. No way is he better than Lukosius, the King brothers, Smith, Walsh, hately, Rankine imo. So best would be 8.

If he said he wanted out this year and picked one club, they would know they will get unders the following year. So 2 picks between 20-26 and a 3rd the following year isnt great but not horrible.

Freo will definitely want a few picks between 6 and 78. No way will they make up their quota after pick 78.

Wont happen and maybe the picks aren't quite high enough. But if they trust their recruiting team it could become a better outcome for them. In saying that, all of us here are death riding the wbs and adel as we think those early picks will be turned into gold by our recruiting team. So are those picks really that bad? Id be happy as hell to hit the draft with 23 and 26.

If our club traded Dow for pick 23 and 26 i would vomit, he looks to be a fantastic player. Not much point comparing Cerra to Luko or the Kings as they are poles apart in styles and positions, i don't understand the rationale that this draft is always better when rating players, imo Cerra in hindsight Cerra should have gone 1 or 2 so not sure how you would let him slide to 8, but that is just a difference of opinion.

I would love him but Freo won't trade and i wouldn't either, make him see out his deal, he plays well and they get fair compo, i wouldn't accept less than a top 10 pick.

How would you like SOS to deal if it was Dow in the same position?

No. I dont think they will. They have too many stars on their list. They wont be over paying

It wouldn't surprise me if there were some shifty business happening in this event, GWS matches the offer knowing full well they can't afford it, forcing Carlton to trade. The AFL knows this happens but turns a blind eye.

Am i being paranoid? I can see this happening.

Thats why i would love for us to trade it, lets offer it for Cerra then if you think he wants to come home. Gun mid, a pre season under his belt, a body of work to asses and judge him on and then when we go after Shiel there is no reason for GWS to match as there isn't anything to gain from it.

If Dow held us over a barrel i wouldn't like it. Of course i wouldn't. But if SOS believed he could get our team better with picks 23 and 26, then so be it.

I've read rumours about Cerra saying he told Freo he didn't want to go there. If true, who knows what happens whether it be this year or next. But i can tell you if Carlton had pick 6 and we were tossing up between Rankine and a vic kid. And Rankine informed SOS he didn't want to come to Victoria, id hope SOS took the next best.

Well if he puts his hand up and leaves your mob, come back and say hi. Until then move on.

No worries but if the offer is 23 and 26 that would be laughable.
Some Vic club would offer us much better. 23 and 26 doesn’t exactly scream deal of the century.
Cerra and 6 for 1 and 23 is starting to look more like it but obviously you’d say ‘no way man... if he wants to leave you must accept our low offer’

Not sure if it can be shifty but you could be right.

I think Josh Kelly is in our sights. If so, i wouldn't move on our 2019 1st this year.

And if he chooses one club it means nothing what others want to offer. So why would we give up 1? Your mob wouldn't

Yeah we probably wouldn’t but I’d also not be so stupid to say stuff like Cerra for 23 and 26 whilst trying to keep a straight face.

Also if he wanted to walk out after 1 year to go home and then demand the 1 club that just happens to be Carlton in a state of numerous Vic clubs then I’d say any picks would do for him because he won’t last in the AFL environment. Doubt your scenario is likely though is it?

Correct, said it was unlikely. You clearly had your foot up your own ass and missed that because you wanted to be funny.

I don't understand why you would say he wouldn't survive in an AFL environment if he choose Carlton. Its flogs like you that come onto others boards and think you can rubbish other teams and get away with it. You're actually pathetic. Now piss off!

Not what I meant at all precious. Just meant if you’re the type of flog that does 1 year at a club, wants to leave to go home where there’s 8 sides to choose from BUT demand 1, THEN you’re probably not cut out to survive AFL.
Nothing to do with Carlton, you misunderstood completely.

Don't get the obsession with Cerra, last year everyone spoke of what a poor draft it was, now they're saying he'd go 1 or 2 this year. He's averaging 14 touches a game, I'm sure he'll be a fine player, but seems short sighted to me.

There’s obsession because he’s yet to sign an extension, so posters think he’s gettable. Maybe he is but apart from signing an extension everything he has said doesn’t sound like someone leaving at years end.
If he does want out 23 and 26 are so far from it I just had to comment as it’s laughable.
Anyway, as you guys were.
