We would get slaughtered. We already lose our best players once a year and you want to make it twice a year

We should be opposing mid season trading. It will always benefit almost every other club more than us. WA has more go home factor than us. We would be at the loser end of the scale just above Brisbane, GCS and GWS. Even Sydney would probably do better out of it than us.

Also, it was rumoured that Collingwood were into Lynch before that wasnt it? There could still possibly be room for both Lynch and Sloane, especially as Wells contract and Mayne's contract are almost over. But Sloane would have to accept much lower than what we were offering and we wouldn't get our band 1 compo. Hopefully, we would match and force a trade, which would only be possible if Lynch was taken as a FA.

How would mid season trading work? Would contracts only go to half way points in the season or would players always be under contract?
