The replacements aren’t too bad and we do play the G ok (apart from the melb game).

Phillips for kruez
Shaw for Plowman
Murphy for daisy
Pickett for O’Shea

Phillips bringing good VFL form and confidence in to the game. Plowman is a loss but Shaw is a mature body with AFL experience and played his best game in the VFL. Murphy and Daisy - like for like. Pickett is an upgrade on o’shea.

Back 6. Shaw takes Plowmans position. Lamb did ok in Daisy’s. Jones, Weiters, Rowe and Mr 300.

We couldn’t/wouldn’t put Marchbank straight in..

Should make us competitive at least.
Daisy and Murphy like for Like? Murphy is a big upgrade on Daisy!!!

Yeah. No argument there.

But Daisy’s been very good this year (in our best 5 on the weekend and easily top 10 this year) whereas Murph is coming off an extended break and will be underdone. Sort of makes them like for like until Murph gains match fitness.

Takes a while to see the forrest for the trees …. but you can start to see how these young kids will impact after 50+ games …. you can just feel it … Everyone was in awe of Charlie this week and rightly so … but there, hidden in Charlies "let loose" highlights reel was a pick up, fend off and spin from one young Nemo that had me standing and fist pumping when I was watching the game live …...

"Nemo" haha

If we assume Plowman, Thomas and O'shea go out and Pickett comes in that leaves just two spots to fill Casboult/McKay/Kerr fills one and then one of Murphy/Lang/Graham(he did have yet another monster game in the 2's)/Cuningham/Marchbank would fill the other spot - I can't really see Shaw getting past all of them plus having O'shea dropped in his favour.

You could argue Kerr has been better than McKay but he didn't play at all last week and had a good month in the seniors (for 2 goals) time to go back and work on a couple of things in the VFL and let McKay come back after a month out of the AFL side and see if he can build on what he did in his block of 6.

Makes you wonder who our back 7 will be. O'Shea will probably be saved by injuries.

Thomas, Plowman, O'Shea out. Rowe, Mullett, Weitering, Jones, Simpson remain. Lamb back worked ok. What else do we have? Silvagni to try? Rush Marchbank back? Leave O'Shea in. Rush Cuningham back? Byrne i would not rush back at all. Shaw an option. Cuningham is a likely option.

Tough call for our match committee but think we will be alright.

Just looking at those 5, and it’s staggering how many games of senior footy Craig Bradley played.

Read somewhere his Carlton, Port (SANFL) and state games added together is over 500.
Incredible longevity:thumbsu:
