Looking at all the players out of contract at the end of this season, I'd be interested in a few of these names.

Paul Seedsman, Jarryd Lyons (anyone confirm if he's actually not contracted?), Anthony Miles, Jayden Short, Jake Lloyd, Nic Newman, Andrew Gaff, Scott Lycett.

Pretty slim pickings, you'd think Gaff will re-sign, Lyons I doubt is uncontracted but that's just going off Footywire. Lloyd could be GCS bound so that leaves us with Seedsman, Miles, Short, Newman and Lycett on the shortlist.

You'd try go for Lycett as a FA but again, unlikely that he leaves in my opinion. If we could get say one of Miles/Short and even someone like Newman, they could be pretty handy inclusions but there's not much on offer.

I’d be throwing a fair bit of coin at Short immediately. He’s a very good young player & the Tigers will be a some serious cap squeeze if Lynch picks them.

If we move Dunstan on for a 2nd rounder we could flick that to the Tiges and probably get Miles thrown in. He’s OOC & a definite to move on for opportunity. He has kicking issues (like Dunstan) but can find the pill & get it out with ease (which Dunstan struggles with).

I’d be throwing a fair bit of coin at Short immediately. He’s a very good young player & the Tigers will be a some serious cap squeeze if Lynch picks them.

If we move Dunstan on for a 2nd rounder we could flick that to the Tiges and probably get Miles thrown in. He’s OOC & a definite to move on for opportunity. He has kicking issues (like Dunstan) but can find the pill & get it out with ease (which Dunstan struggles with).

add McVeigh on a 2/3 year deal (playing/assistant coaching). I heard Sam Mitchell is coming back to Vic as well?

There is no need to trade out our best young players just to get back into the draft IMO. We will already have a top 4 picks, just need to trade out some others to get back into the second and third round.

Quality coaches should be our number one target. Carracella is out of contract, we need to shake heaven and earth to get him. Maybe add a Ratten or Knights as well.

Whoever ends up with Lynch will likely be looking at trading out a player or two. Richmond likely will lose a few either way. Target guys like Short etc for decent money.

I’d be happy to bring on someone like Hall for the right price and also look at some older FA’s that may help shot us up the ladder with the help of a good draw.

We’ve had a wasted year which means we miss out on spending a butt load of money on anyone again. If we are any chance on getting anyone next year we need to be at least pushing for finals next year.

I don't think it will be our best. Probably players expected to come on and haven't. Mid tier and perhaps suprlus like a ruck or KPF.

We're in real trouble if we trade out our 18-24yr olds..

Reality it's the lack of quality in our prime age (28yr) bracket that is costing us..

Does anyone not see JB, Steele, Gresh, Clark, Coff etc.. not being jets when they are in their prime?

I couldn't agree more! We've had a bad year. We have a very young group and we are still developing a lot of players at once. We need better couches, 26-30 year old players and a star or two, not to get back into the 2nd round of the draft by casting off 20-23 year olds that still have growth. Its not going to be ease... But thats what we need IMO.

After hearing Lethleans comments today re getting in experienced players to help lead the next generation, I’d be shocked if we didn’t offer BJ a deal to come home for a couple of years to finish his career. People criticise his on field behaviour, but his training standards and dedication to the cause are second to none. I’m all for it.

I would love to get Sam Mitchell in as an assistant. Didn't like him when he played (despite being a great player) but he is the sort of ruthless, clever, crafty, win at all costs type campaigner that we need.

Was a big fan of Ross’ work last year. That game against Richmond he cut them up with two way running. Shut down Martin and racked them up at will.

Now - he couldn’t be more liable. Richo has destroyed his confidence and exposed his weaknesses playing him off half back. If he has currency which you think a reigning B&F winner should - I wouldn’t have an issue trading him. Doesn’t scream our leadership on or off the field either.
