Can't believe this is even a story. Jumper's not great, but seriously, Hawthorn wore pink and brown and not a peep!!!

Their jumper was already putrid, and they managed to make it worse.

There are five jumpers that are worse than ours, but only ours gets a story.

If you confine it to centre clearances, absolutely. We're just genuinely terrible at retaining the ball from throwins or ball ups around the ground.

It makes sense, if you think about it. In the centre clearances, opposition sides cannot surround Cripps with three/four people to stop him getting the ball, and can congest the shit out of a stoppage situation to take full advantage of their size against our kids.

If you confine it to centre clearances, absolutely. We're just genuinely terrible at retaining the ball from throwins or ball ups around the ground.

It makes sense, if you think about it. In the centre clearances, opposition sides cannot surround Cripps with three/four people to stop him getting the ball, and can congest the shit out of a stoppage situation to take full advantage of their size against our kids.

We won both the clearances and stoppages on the weekend, + 6 in both

As you mentioned, retention and turnovers kill us, but I also understand the progression of the gameplan

there’s another positive to come out of being the third best centre clearance team. We will get more opportunities for centre clearances when we score more. It’ll be an exponential growth opportunity.

Certainly an interesting projection you considering. Not without merit but still lot of work to get there. But sides that can get a run on clean centre clearances, will benefit a bit when the centre bounce format after goals does not allow a team to put spare men in 50 metre arc. Will be interesting if they make the wingers start from side of square like they would have in the two recent match trials.
